Role Summary

A Director of Utility Partnerships at Renew Home will be an exceptional sales leader focused on driving business growth with regulated utilities across North America. The primary focus will be on developing new business opportunities, with regional focus on the West/Southwest.

What You Will Do

  • Pipeline Development & Sales Ownership: Develop and own a pipeline of sales opportunities, with accountability for all stages – from deal origination through contract negotiation.
  • Business Development “Swiss Army Knife”: You will do a little bit of it all – sales, marketing, product strategy, regulatory, market development – to help grow a new business unit. You will develop strategies to create new revenue opportunities by understanding market, technology, and regulatory drivers. The role requires a deep understanding of the utility industry and the evolving energy landscape.
  • Executive Engagement & Thought Leadership: Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at regulated utilities, including C-level executives, VPs, and department directors. The role requires networking, attending industry events, and utilizing existing contacts to generate new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Extensive Sales & Business Development Experience: 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, with a significant portion focused on selling to regulated utilities. A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and closing complex deals is essential.
  • Deep Understanding of Load Management: Fluency in selling products and services such as Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), Demand Response, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), Grid Services, or supply-side energy transactions is critical. This role requires both technical and energy markets knowledge, as well as the ability to communicate complex concepts to clients.
  • Hyperscalers & Renewables/Storage: Experience with data centers, renewables, and battery storage is a plus.
  • Regional Expertise: Experience selling into the Southwest or West is a plus.

Benefits

What You'll Get

  • Fully remote work environment with home office set-up allowance.
  • Real and lived work-life balance - Company perks include no pre-set vacation limits (with a top-down culture of taking meaningful PTO every year!), parental leave benefits, and a corporate value of working sustainably and putting families first.
  • Competitive benefits package that includes numerous health and wellness benefits.
  • 401(k) plan, with employer contributions to the same.
