Join Collins Aerospace, a leader in aerospace and defense innovation, as a Principal Specialist, Contracts in our Electronic Systems portfolio of Thermal Electronics and Defense Solutions (TEDS). In this pivotal role, you will take the lead in managing complex contracts primarily with military prime contractors and the Department of Defense (DoD), while also supporting commercial aerospace OEM contracts. You’ll play a critical role in navigating high-stakes negotiations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies, and acting as the primary liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders. What YOU Will Do:

  • Lead and manage the negotiation, administration, and execution of complex contracts with customers
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on contract terms & conditions, and risk management to internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate effective contract management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and program management, to support business objectives and resolve contract-related issues
  • Review and analyze contract documents to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and present contract status reports and metrics to senior management
  • Support the development and implementation of contract management best practices and process improvements
  • Occasional Business Travel is required, but not limited to: Facility in Simpsonville, SC

What YOU Will Learn:

  • Gain relevant experience navigating the complexities of aerospace/defense contracting with the U.S. Government
  • Develop and grow principled negotiation skills by leading high-stakes discussions (in-person or virtual) with military prime contractors, DoD and supporting agencies (DCMA/DCAA) and commercial clients
  • Strengthen knowledge and expertise of FAR Part 12 and Part 15 Contracting Procedures, mastering compliance with industry regulations, government standards and specific contractual terms across government and commercial sectors
  • Improve your strategic problem-solving and decision-making abilities by independently managing complex contracts from inception to closure while ensuring compliance and maintaining strong client relationships

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
