Global Marketing Director, General Medicine – Bone Health Brand Lead

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will shape the commercial future of EVENITY and help ensure the success of one of Amgen’s key assets.

The Director of Global Marketing, General Medicine – EVENITY Brand Lead is responsible for developing commercial strategies, driving decision implementation, and maximizing growth for EVENITY. This role also includes coordinating key initiatives within the Bone therapeutic area and supporting the seamless integration of global-to-local strategies to ensure the brand’s success across markets and regions.

The Director, Global Marketing – EVENITY Brand Lead, plays a critical role within the Global Marketing organization, driving innovation and growth for one of the key assets in the Bone therapeutic area. This position is instrumental in shaping and driving global strategies that unlock the full potential of EVENITY—a product with the power to significantly improve patient outcomes in osteoporosis. The role also provides strategic leadership across emerging opportunities within the Bone space, contributing to one of the most impactful and scientifically advanced areas of the General Medicine portfolio.

The Director of Global Marketing will actively contribute as a core member of the EVENITY Integrated Brand Team (IBT) and Brand Working Group (BWG), partnering closely with in-market cross-functional leads. This role will support insight generation, strategy development, and global and local brand planning to advance the continued success of EVENITY and broader Bone priorities.

This role requires cross-functional collaboration with teams including global cross-functional teams, the IBT, General Medicine GMLs, in-market teams, TAG (Therapeutic Area Governance), GCO (Global Commercial Operations) leaders, PTs (Product Teams), and General Medicine Strategy Teams. The Director will play a key role in driving growth, shaping strategic priorities, and ensuring effective delivery.

This is a highly visible role in the organization, and requires executive presence, integration, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.

The areas of responsibility for this role include:

  • Lead the development of clear and differentiated marketing strategies and actionable plans to support EVENITY’s success.

  • Challenge cross-matrix stakeholders to find opportunities and address challenges for EVENITY.

  • Critically evaluate competitor data and advancements to assess market threats, differentiation opportunities, and potential use cases.

  • Collaborate with Global Commercial Excellence Leads (GCELs), Medical Affairs, and Commercial Insights Leads to gather deep market insights and develop a gold-standard commercial strategy to optimize the future value of EVENITY.

  • Guide the Integrated Brand Team and global marketing activities, fostering global engagement with local market alignment.

  • Shape high-quality marketing deliverables in alignment with Amgen’s processes and requirements, including contributions to the Global Product Strategy, brand planning, launch readiness for potential new indications, competitive insights, patient-centric initiatives, robust Target Product Profiles, forecasting, and strategies to enhance brand value and expand opportunities to impact patients.

  • Develop and implement end-to-end commercial plans for EVENITY, driving activities across the IBT and regional markets.

  • Commission and manage market research in collaboration with Commercial Data & Analytics (cDNA).

  • Collaborate with Competitive Intelligence to monitor the evolving landscape and assess implications for Amgen’s Bone strategy.

  • Partner with Forecasting and Finance to develop long-range sales and operating expense projections.

  • Lead the development of aligned narratives for both internal and external communications.

  • Ensure effective utilization of lead market assets by ROW markets (e.g., promoting reuse of existing materials via a central repository to minimize duplication).

  • Coordinate leading practice sharing across lead and ROW markets.

  • Address market questions and requests related to global strategy in close partnership with Global Commercial Excellence Leads (GCELs).

  • Support the management of business quarterly reviews, as needed.

  • Assist with alliance management and external partnerships, where applicable.

  • Partner with priority country GMs to critically assess, refine, and update brand plans and long-range sales forecasts (LRS).

  • Lead key brand deliverables to ensure alignment with Amgen’s company goals and broader therapeutic area strategies.

  • Support BUD forums and marketer interchange initiatives in collaboration with global sponsors.
