Federal Sales Support Engineer
PacStar is currently seeking a talented Federal Sales Engineer to join our Technical Services team, supporting the assigned Sales Account Team and respective programs.

Your Challenge:
Sales Engineering support
Technical Champion for PacStar products and solutions
Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers
Technical Pre and Post Sales support
Analyze requirements, produce engineering designs, create Statements of Work, Work-Time Estimates, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and proposal documents that utilize PacStar products and ancillary networking products for IP voice/data/security/wireless/networking solutions
Provide technical input into the development of sales proposals, including identification of equipment, contractors, and 3rd party vendors required to complete projects
Support the sales process, account management teams, and delivery teams
Interface with sales staff, resellers, and customers’ technical staff in the identification of customer solutions
Collaborate with sales team to identify opportunities based on complex requirements and communicate these internally within the business areas of PacStar
Work as the consulting resource for the sales team to communicate compelling value propositions and maximize profit for products and services sales
Provide Technical guidance to other members of the Sales Engineering Team
Attend seminars, trade shows, etc. as needed
Designs, configures and installs network infrastructure and systems
PacStar Strategic and Tactical Unified Communications Products
PacStar partner products (Cisco, Aruba, etc.)
Ensure products and services are effectively delivered to the customer
Obtain and maintain technical certifications necessary for PacStar success
Provide guidance and support to other Sales Engineering resources for delivery of customer solutions
Provide technical support and customer feedback for clients, product development, and company
Respond to customer technical support needs for PacStar products of secure network solutions
Coordinate or manage implementation projects
Work with Technical Services to develop and deliver services as required
Identify new product opportunities and customer requests
Communicate customer feedback on products to PacStar team
Provide technical and engineering expertise to team supporting all initiatives
Prepare and deliver customer presentations to all management levels.
Collaborate with Product Development team
Gather use cases and requirements from customer; communicate these to product development team
Suggest enhancements to PacStar IQ-Core Software and tactical kits
Use PacStar IQ-Core Software to assist in configuration of systems whenever possible, and provide feedback to development team
Other duties as assigned
What you bring:
US Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance
B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
Must have at least 5 years successful technical experience supporting sales of technical products in similar fields
Must have at least 2 -3 years successful experience deploying network technologies such as wireless, VoIP, LAN, WAN, WLAN, security, and/or enterprise IT systems
Must reside within assigned region with the ability to travel both domestic and international 50% of the time
Prior US Military Service with honorable discharge is highly preferred
Expertise in security design and analysis, with hands-on experience using security-related tools
Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
Current certifications:
At least one CISCO CCNP (Route/Switch, Voice, Security, or Wireless) required
Excellent interpersonal, technical presentation, and the ability to clearly communicate technical answers to customer inquiries
Ability to work closely with the sales team to maximize account coordination and the ability to take direction when needed on specific opportunities
Ability to identify additional sales opportunities and customer needs based on technical input
Ability to work with customers to overcome objections and obstacles
Strong system engineering skills with strong project and consulting focus
Ability to present complex technology to technical and non-technical customer audiences
Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
Experience with the following network management applications such as: SolarWinds, SNMPc, Microsoft Management Console, Putty, Secure CRT Wireshark
Windows security administration including certificate management, local security policy, and Active Directory
Comfortable editing XML and Windows registry
Use of an issue/bug tracking system
