About the Role

The Senior Property Accountant – Scaled Seller Services will provide full cycle accounting support for the Scaled Seller Services (S3) business unit, and function as a key member of the team. This role is responsible for billing and collections, as well as communicating financial results to both external clients and management teams. The skills required to succeed in this role include strong accounting, collaboration, communication, and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily accounting functions for the S3 business unit
  • Provide industry leading service for our clients in the form of cash forecasting, reporting, billing, and collections
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports in accordance with GAAP –prepare monthly accrual journal entries, financial statement preparation/reconciliation and bank reconciliations for the S3 business unit
  • Prepare weekly/monthly financial reports/analytics as needed to clients, including cash reconciliations for any clients
  • Present monthly financial review for S3 business unit to Corporate Accounting and Senior Leadership team
  • Review and maintain accuracy of general ledgers
  • GL activity posting, Balance Sheet reconciliation and maintenance of subsidiary ledgers
  • Support Property Accounting Managers with ad hoc projects, monthly closes and distributions, when needed
  • Monitor cash receipt postings, client billings, billing adjustments and perform client ledger reconciliations
  • Review invoice coding and invoice workflow to ensure adherence to capitalization policies and timely payments to vendors
  • Coordinate with AP to ensure client accounts are funded timely
  • Ability to independently research historical cash transactions and provide internal Leadership and clients with timely responses
  • Provide accounting detail and assistance to Property Accounting Managers for all internal and/or external auditors
  • Research new accounting laws and regulations for different states as needed
  • Performs ad hoc assignments as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of Real Estate Accounting experience
  • Experience in Public Accounting highly preferred
  • Proficiency using Excel and Google Suite products
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Location

 This position is classified as Remote within the Greater Dallas Area.

Compensation

 $85,000 - $105,000 range on annual base salary. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.

Pay Transparency

Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary for this position.  Ultimately, in determining your pay it will be based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other job related factors.  Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only a part of our total compensation package.
