Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy Research & Environmental Scanning
•
Stay on the pulse of HUD and other federal regulations impacting the housing and community development sectors.
•
Track emerging legislation, agency guidance, and industry trends that may influence client operations and public service delivery.
2. Regulatory Analysis with Real-World Impact
•
Translate complex regulatory updates into meaningful insights for leadership and client-facing teams.
Identify risks and opportunities associated with regulatory change, helping our clients stay compliant, efficient, and community-focused.
3. Training & Curriculum Development
•
Design training materials that empower staff to deliver services with excellence, and up-to-date compliance.
•
Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to ensure training is relevant, engaging, and aligned with both federal mandates and our mission.
•
Continuously review and update learning tools to reflect changes in policy and promote innovation.
4. Cross-Functional Communication
•
Serve as a trusted advisor to our team and our clients by providing timely updates and clarity on regulatory shifts.
•
Create and manage systems to ensure accurate and consistent policy dissemination throughout the organization.
5. Documentation & Strategic Reporting
•
Maintain detailed records of regulatory updates, interpretations, and implementation strategies.
•
Develop briefings and reports that guide operational and programmatic decisions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
10+years Experience or equivalent
•
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Business Administration, or a related field—or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience and Competencies:
•
Experience working with HUD programs or closely related public-sector fields is required.
Background in policy analysis, compliance, curriculum development, or regulatory strategy.
•
Skilled at interpreting federal laws and translating them into actionable strategies and training content.
•
Strong research, writing, and communication skills—able to synthesize and present complex information clearly.
•
Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
•
A team player with a passion for public service, equity, and community transformation.
Travel:
Up to 30% travel required for on-site program reviews, trainings, and stakeholder engagements nationwide.
