Senior Reports Analyst IT

POSITION SUMMARY:  Senior Reports Analyst with strong experience in insurance and Third-Party Administration (TPA) operations to join our team. This role will be critical in developing and delivering insightful reports using our customized reporting system. The ideal candidate will not only become technically proficient but also deeply understand insurance and TPA workflows, ensuring that reporting solutions align with complex business needs.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain operational, financial, and compliance reports using our proprietary/customized reporting system.
  • Translate business requirements from stakeholders into effective reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements, define metrics, and deliver clear reporting specifications.
  • Analyze existing workflows, policies, and data structures to recommend reporting improvements.
  • Interpret data trends and anomalies to support business decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance and TPA processes, ensuring reports meet industry and regulatory standards.
  • Validate report results for accuracy and consistency, including troubleshooting discrepancies.
  • Train and support end-users in accessing and understanding reporting outputs.
  • Maintain documentation for reporting processes, including data dictionaries, report definitions, and change logs.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects where reporting and data insights are critical.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Perform supervisory duties to the resources assigned.
  • Be a mentor to other team members.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, contractors, and consultants as needed.

 

 

SOFTWARE OPERATED/USED: 

  • Good hands-on knowledge of various application claim systems
  • Project planning tools such as Microsoft Project,
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Defect tracking tools such as Bugzilla
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of experience in a reporting, data analysis, or reporting solution role.
  • Significant experience (3+ years) in insurance, TPA, claims administration, or a closely related field.
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., CMS, OSHA, HIPAA) in insurance or TPA contexts.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations, claims workflows, policy administration, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with customized reporting systems
  • Ability to interpret and transform complex business needs into clear, actionable reporting outputs.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or experience in related field.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Understanding application security and data protection best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and data partners.
  • Strong task management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to S/W application.
  • Experience working with customized or proprietary insurance reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with databases and warehousing concepts      
  • Reporting automation
