Summary: The Senior Pharmacy Consultant will provide consulting services on all aspects of Pharmacy Benefits for our National Pharmacy Team supporting employer clients. This position is a client-facing role and will serve as a key point of contact for our clients and internal teammates. The Senior Pharmacy Consultant will work on both tactical and strategic aspects of pharmacy consulting, including financial analysis for RFP/procurement projects, ad hoc reporting, day-to-day management of pharmacy programs, developing clinical and financial strategies, and providing ongoing pharmacy benefit expertise to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Functions: include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the onboarding of new clients ensuring accurate set up within pharmacy analytics system;
  • Manage financial and tactical aspects of the internal RFP/procurement and market-check process for National Pharmacy Team clients which includes creating project timelines coordinating PBM data requests, financial evaluation and assessment of PBM RFP responses, working with proprietary procurement tools, and the creation of summary reports, financial analysis and presentations.
  • Assist with contract reviews and PBM contract negotiations; including financial modeling and review of language & terms;
  • Develop client presentations and reporting, including the development of intellectual capital for Brown & Brown, the evaluation of client utilization, trends and key findings within the pharmacy benefit, and the development of strategic recommendations for clients;
  • Serve as a mentor and SME to Client Engagement team
  • Assist with PharmaLogic (our proprietary pharmacy analytics tool) reporting including the evaluation of client utilization, trends and key findings within the pharmacy claim data;
  • Support and manage PBM implementations and/or the implementation of pharmacy benefit changes
  • Manage the strategic and tactical client relationship thus ensuring retention of clients and associated revenue
  • Collaborate with internal teammates and consulting specialists, such as clinicians, financial analysts, actuaries, etc. to deliver support to clients
  • Manage issue escalation and resolution of any pharmacy related issues
  • Responsible for the documentation of all key agreements, deliverables and client correspondence
  • Use proprietary financial analytic tools as well as Excel to dive deeply into client pharmacy spend and underlying drivers of cost;
  • Assist with the development of methodologies, analytics, and outcomes assessments using output;
  • Serve as technical resource for health & welfare consulting teams

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance and/or similar discipline with analytic base
  • Relevant industry experience; ideally 5 years’ experience in Pharmacy Benefit consulting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proficient with MS Office suite
  • Ability to form strong relationships with clients and internal teammates
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to travel as required (up to 10% of time)

Preferred

  • Experience with pharmacy clinical strategy development
  • Knowledge of both Pharmacy and Medical data
  • Experience with Tableau or a similar business intelligence package

Pay Range

100000 - 120000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
