Job description

The Jr. Reference Architecture Engineer is responsible for feature deployments and platform update deployments to C3 Reference Architecture customers. The C3 Reference Architecture Platform is a cloud-native system design with associated configuration baselines and managed processes. Additionally, the Jr. Reference Architecture Engineer is responsible for updating and maintaining documentation related to the C3 Reference Architecture platform. Finally, the Jr. Reference Architecture Engineer contributes to development of the C3 Reference Architecture Platform by resolving bug reports or escalating to associate and Sr. Engineers as appropriate 

What You'll Do:

Platform Engineering (70%) 

  • Work collaboratively with service delivery teams to deploy new features, versions, and patches to C3 Reference Architecture customers.  
  • Develop, update, and maintain C3 Reference Architecture documentation related to deployments and baseline configurations.  
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on platform technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure services, Intune, managed security tools, and other third-party services and integrations 
  • Drive continuous improvement by resolving issues related to the product in the form of bug reports. 

DevOps (20%) 

  • Support C3 Reference Architecture customers by documenting and providing deployment support for solutions related to the C3 Reference Architecture Platform. 
  • Work collaboratively with service delivery teams to automate the deployment and validation of the C3 Reference Architecture Platform through automation. 
  • Collaborate with operational stakeholders to support and maintain the usage of in-house developed solutions by contributing to and developing documentation.  

Internal IT (10%) 

  • Develop and maintain competencies on C3’s internal IT infrastructure, including Microsoft 365, Azure Entra ID, Intune, Azure services, security service edge, line-of-business applications, and endpoint security tools 
    • Backfill internal IT tasks and responsibilities as required

What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge and passion for cloud-first architecture, including experience building and deploying systems in the Microsoft cloud
  • In addition to the requirements stated above, experience with any of the following is a plus: Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK, ConnectWise, ServiceNow, configuration management (Saltstack, DSC, Chef, Puppet), or CI/CD tools
  • Experience working in Microsoft GCC High and Azure Government
  • Exposure to compliance requirements for the U.S. Defense Industrial Base (i.e., CMMC, DFARS, NIST SP 800-171)
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications
  • Academic degree, preferably in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant field 
  • U.S. citizenship 
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience as a Technical Writer, DevOps Engineer, IT Systems Engineer, or Developer with 3+ years of progressive experience in the IT industry 
  • PowerShell and general scripting fluency 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex, technical information into  
  • Experience with technical writing and software documentation. 
  • Familiarity with software version control (Git, Azure DevOps) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, ARM templates) 
  • Familiarity with software documentation systems (Hudu, Swagger)  
  • High level end-to-end understanding of IT systems design, deployment, configuration, and monitoring
