What you'll do

  • Redefine pipelines: Optimise CI/CD pipelines with intelligent automation that minimises manual work, making you the go-to expert for seamless quality processes.

  • Champion quality: Lead the "shift-left" movement by embedding quality practices into development from day one, driving excellence across teams.

  • Inspire developers: Teach teams how to write testable, high-quality code and implement smart automation (think TDD, BDD, and unit testing).

  • Build the future: Architect rock-solid test automation frameworks for microservices, APIs, and cloud platforms that can scale effortlessly.

  • Team empowerment: Mentor teams, instill best practices, and elevate Telstra's engineering capabilities to new heights.

About you

  • Australia-based with full Australian citizenship, or permanent residency as a minimum

  • Experience that matters: 5-10 years of hands-on expertise in test automation (Java, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, RestAssured) and building automation frameworks for distributed systems.

  • Tech skills: Knowledge of TDD, BDD, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred). Bonus points for DevOps or microservices contract testing.

  • Problem-solving pro: You thrive on solving complex challenges and improving processes.

  • Team player: A collaborative mindset and passion for mentoring developers to embed quality practices.

Bonus points 

  • You've helped build a quality-first culture in previous roles 

  • Experience in implementing any AI-driven test automation to enhance productivity 

  • You have a solid grasp of security testing and validating AI results—and you're not afraid to dive in and get hands-on when needed 

  • Experience in performance and load testing of applications and api’s at super crazy volumes

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools like Terraform or Ansible
