Job description

The Opioid Epidemic is a public health crisis with a highly effective but underutilized clinical intervention - millions of Americans are physically dependent on Opioids but only 10% of those likely to have OUD actually access treatment. Bicycle Health addresses this gap by maximizing accessibility, affordability, and overall quality of care by enabling highly qualified clinicians to reach patients broadly and efficiently through our online platform.

The Billing Specialist (3 month Temporary) will be responsible for reviewing billing recommendations generated from a proprietary system and ensuring that claims are submitted accurately and compliantly. The Billing Specialist will review clinical documentation, determine appropriate coding, and submit claims to contracted commercial and government payors.

**Type: 3month Temporary position** 

Location:  Remote

Schedule: M-F schedule, Full time (40 hrs)

Target Pay Range: $30.00-33.00/hour -  Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. 

You can expect to:

  • Evaluates medical records, provider notes and billing recommendations to determine appropriate procedure codes to assign to claims.
  • Creates and submits primary and secondary third-party medical claims.
  • Verifies all the information for claims processing is complete and accurate.
  • Accountability for ensuring validation of all entries are performed.
  • Contacts the appropriate stakeholders (providers, financial coordinator, etc.) to obtain missing or unclear billing information, and escalates to leadership as necessary.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in clinical documentation and claim submission.
  • May perform Insurance verification and eligibility checks.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding daily billing productivity standards to ensure Finance SLA’s are adhered to. 
  • Maintains workstation in compliance with HIPAA Security and Technical Rule. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualities we're looking for:

  • 2-4 years of Revenue Cycle/Medical Billing experience, required.
  • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes, HCFA 1500 claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology.
  • Telemedicine and startup experience, preferred.
  • Athena Health experience, preferred.
  • Behavioral Health experience, preferred 
  • Consistent access to a private work environment with high speed internet and professionally appropriate surroundings for frequent video conferencing and a workstation setup conducive to remote work needs.

This is a full-time (40hrs per week) remote position.
