Your new role - QA Tech Lead
Location: On-site in Düsseldorf or remote in Germany
You’ll be joining our Engineering department, a dynamic environment where cross-functional development teams drive continuous improvements, build new features, and develop cutting-edge products. Supporting this innovation, our Product Support, QA, and SRE teams work alongside our Product, People, and Leadership teams - including our Director/Architect and VP of Engineering - to tackle new challenges, push the boundaries of technology, and ensure our products remain stable, innovative, and customer-centric. Together, we’re committed to delivering excellence and shaping the future of our industry.
Your responsibilities will include
- Strategic QA Leadership – Develop and drive a holistic QA vision and strategy that reflects the needs and challenges of all QA engineers across domains.
- Team Representation & Advocacy – Act as the voice of the QA team in cross-functional leadership discussions; ensure QA is included early in decision-making and process design.
- Process Optimization & Guidelines – Evaluate, refine, and implement scalable QA processes and guidelines tailored to diverse teams and projects.
- Data-Driven Prioritization – Collaborate with Product and Engineering to use product usage data and customer insights to identify QA priorities, guide change decisions, and align testing focus with user behavior.
- Mentorship & Career Development – Coach and support QA engineers across teams, promoting a strong quality culture and helping to align individual and team growth with business needs.
- Collaboration Across Functions – Work with Engineering, Product, and SRE to ensure QA is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
- Leadership in Change Management – Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements or deprecations, with clear communication and alignment with stakeholders.
Requirements
About you
- Experience & Leadership – 8+ years in software quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role
- Strategic QA Leadership – Develop and drive a holistic QA vision and strategy that reflects the needs and challenges of all QA engineers across domains.
- Test Automation Tools – Deep knowledge of frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- QA Methodologies – Expert in software testing practices, automation, performance and API testing.
- DevOps & CI/CD – Strong understanding of CI/CD, SDLC, and agile development principles.
- Cloud-Based Testing – Hands-on experience with cloud-based testing environments and practices.
- Programming Skills – Strong scripting or coding skills for test automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
- Tools Familiarity – Comfortable with defect tracking systems, test management tools, and reporting dashboards.
