Purpose
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will be responsible for successfully implementing and deploying technically complex software products and services to client environments. The Senior Application Engineer regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment related to matters of significance while performing the duties and responsibilities of the job. This position is expected to implement new products that utilize third-party applications, including but not limited to analytics or reporting tools, and implement new products using application frameworks developed by the team. This person acts as a technical mentor to junior team members. In the absence of the team manager, this person may temporarily assume some managerial responsibilities.

Essential Functions
- Design, develop, test, document, and deploy significant features related to new product development.
- Perform requirements gathering and analysis activities to assist in developing new products.
- Act as a scrum master on the team as necessary and perform other scrum activities.
- Perform QC, regression, and validation testing as needed.
- Demonstrate all new products developed to internal and external parties, including participation at conferences such as SUG.
- Assist the development manager and director in defining new product development or implementation processes.
- Assist and lead in various documentation activities and prepare and provide product training and demonstration for clients.
- Acts as the client's technical advocate within the company by promoting ideas that contribute toward a more efficient and productive implementation of Clinisys products for the clients.
- Understand the various deployment options of Clinisys products and interface options. Then, it maps these options to meet client's business needs.
- Creates and executes detailed technical checklists and processes to facilitate the implementation of Clinisys products and services.
- Analyzes clients’ business rules and effectively communicates them to development, product management, documentation, support, and other individuals or teams.
- Assists in developing test plans for the alpha and beta phases of the implementation based on client-specific business models.
- Analyze technical issues and develop creative solutions that minimize risk and ensure the successful deployment of software solutions.

Skills
- SQL, relational database, data analytics, and reporting skills.
- Experience with agile methodologies such as SCRUM
- Experience with gathering requirements and transforming them into specifications.
- Ability to manage projects.
- Ability to create, document, and follow processes and procedures.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Domain experience in healthcare-related fields is a plus, such as medical informatics, laboratory experience, and health sciences.
- Skilled in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio), and standard office equipment.
- Working knowledge of medical laboratory workflows.
- Proficient in some or all: XSLT, HL7, HTML, JavaScript, Cache, and Ensembly.
Required Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, engineering, or related fields; or a related degree
- If you don’t have at least 5 years of experience in 5+ years related experience (e.g. software development; analysis or implementation in a customer-facing role) or 1+ year relevant ATLAS experience OR a combination of education and related working experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired this is not the role for you.
Preferred Experience & Education
- Proficient in Windows O/S, VB.NET, C++, C#, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, Databases technologies, IT/Network
- Project Management skills

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally between $94,600 and $129,300 for an annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience so that the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a standard office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, and working on a computer.
- Up to 10% Travel may be required.
- Moderate lifting/carrying 15-44 lbs; use of fingers; walking/standing 2-6 hours.
- Travel to client sites that can pose risks associated with healthcare organizations.
- It may be required to follow customer location health and safety requirements.
