The Role

The Lead Project Manager in Lumen's Engineering and Construction organization will be responsible for overseeing the execution of transformational projects within our Centralized Operations team. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in project management, and previous experience with engineering, construction and field operations. The Lead Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive project execution, ensuring that deadlines are met, responsibilities are clear, and actions are completed. The role also focuses on realizing business efficiencies and maintaining budgets. This position demands excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive project success and support Lumen's transformational objectives.

Location and Schedule

This is a Work From Home position in the United States.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, and manage the implementation of activities for highly complex projects and programs for both external and internal customers throughout their lifecycle.
  • Be accountable for the timely completion and delivery of projects, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Analyze work plans and schedules, and develop comprehensive project progress and status reports, including executive status updates.
  • Oversee resource requirements and allocation, ensuring that all necessary resources are available and effectively utilized.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Develop and distribute timely meeting minutes, track and manage action items, and verify that they are incorporated into the program schedule to ensure deliverables are met on time.
  • Assess and manage risks, impacts, and potential alternatives, escalating issues to the appropriate level of management as required.
  • Set program objectives and establish clear measures to successfully define and meet project deliverables and timelines, utilizing the change control process to track schedule changes.
  • Partner with other staff organizations to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), training, process standards, policies, and procedures associated with complex projects.
  • Ensure adherence to project-related policies and processes, reiterating scope, roles, responsibilities, and schedules on a regular basis.
  • Provide team members with a single point of contact for all project issues, employing judgment to make business decisions that impact the project, customer, or company.
  • Identify and ensure the participation of all required internal and vendor resources to ensure the on-time delivery of services within budgetary guidelines.
  • Negotiate due dates based on resource and network availability to maintain Lumen’s profitability and meet customer requirements.
  • Act as the customer-facing single point of contact during the life of the project, often dedicated to strategic global customers for repeat business.
  • Understand project goals and objectives as they relate to our overall business strategies and long-term needs, delivering project assessment, team formation, schedule preparation, status/jeopardy reports, risk analysis, project status reports, and post-implementation analysis.
What We Look For in a Candidate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or other related certifications.
  • Previous experience with transformational projects in a high-paced telecommunications industry or other technology company.
  • Project Management Professional or other related project management certifications or experience.
  • 5+ years in project management with increasing responsibilities.
  • Experience with Change Management in a Project Management role or related certification.
Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

 

Location Based Pay Ranges

$82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL  AR  AZ  FL  GA  IA  ID  IN  KS  KY  LA  ME  MO  MS  MT  ND  NE  NM  OH  OK  PA  SC  SD  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY  
$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI  
$91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
