Job description

 
Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Renewables Compliance Specialist anywhere in the United States, preferably in Dallas, TX, who will be responsible to develop and manage compliance tools and data required for HF Sinclair’s national, state, and international renewable fuel programs with a particular focus on the Renewable Fuels Standard and various Low Carbon Fuels Programs. This position will work alongside the renewable diesel facilities and commercial team.

Job Duties

  • Ensures compliance with current and future renewable regulatory requirements, primarily the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and various Low Carbon Fuel Programs (LCFS).
  • Reports and maintains knowledge of evolving LCFS programs and compliance requirements. 
  • Collects and monitors refinery operational data to build carbon models.
  • Prepares and submits required RFS and LCFS compliance reports.
  • Performs renewable fuel business internal and external audits with minimum supervision and establishes procedures around data collection and verification that are compliant with external requirements.
  • Provides support for third-party LCFS verification and annual RFS attestation requirements.
  • Represents HF Sinclair Renewables to governmental environmental agencies and trade/professional organizations.
  • Organize and maintain feedstock documentation to origin.
  • Manage material balances and customer reports.
  • Improve processes in the Renewables Group with respect to data collection, reporting, and auditing.
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience

A minimum of 4 years of extensive industry and on-the-job experience is required. Specific appropriate experience includes:

  • Experience auditing in carbon or renewables programs.
  • Renewable Compliance experience at a renewable diesel or biodiesel production facility.
Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in data analytics, finance, environmental science, and/or chemistry-related degree or course work is required.

 

Preferred Education

Master’s Degree.

Required Skills

Intermediate working knowledge of Excel and various other Office programs.  SAP experience is strongly preferred.  Strong time management and organizational skills.

 

Preferred Skill

Experience with EPA Renewable Fuels Standard, Low Carbon/Clean Fuels Programs, and Cap and Trade preferred. Familiarity with renewable fuels preferred.
 

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None.

Work Conditions

Office and plant-based with travel up to 20% of the time required by land and air. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and rotating equipment. Required to work in all temperatures, including outdoors. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.

Salary Range:  The salary range includes the minimum, midpoint, and maximum base salary values.  A candidate's offer can vary depending on differentiating factors, including but not limited to education, training, or experience.

This position has a salary minimum of $92,300, midpoint of $126,400, and maximum of $160.500.
