We are seeking a highly experienced Third-Party Lead Auditor Subcontractor to conduct SMETA audits for our certifying body. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social compliance and ethical trade audits, with a proven track record of conducting high-quality audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct SMETA Audits: Lead and manage SMETA audits, ensuring compliance with Sedex and ethical trade standards.
- Review Documentation: Thoroughly review client documentation and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare Audit Plans: Develop detailed audit plans, including schedules and checklists.
- Lead Audit Meetings: Conduct opening and closing meetings with clients, ensuring clear communication and understanding of audit objectives.
- Report Preparation: Prepare comprehensive audit reports, including findings, non-conformities, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Follow-Up Actions: Follow up on corrective actions proposed by clients, ensuring they are implemented effectively.
- Maintain Certification: Assess client compliance to issue or maintain certification, ensuring timely and accurate report submission.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with changes in ethical trade standards and audit methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of audit processes.
- Experience: Proven experience in conducting third-party or second-party audits, with a focus on social compliance and ethical trade.
- Certifications: APSCA RA/CSCA Level or equivalent certification as a Lead Auditor.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of SMETA, Sedex, and other ethical trade schemes (e.g., SA8000, amfori BSCI, WRAP).
- Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong communication and presentation skills, ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: Experience in Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Management Systems, Food Management Systems, Social Audits, and Sustainability departments.
- Training: Availability for training and qualification purposes, including regular updates on industry best practices and standards.
