Our Team is Growing:

Provides support to relationship managers and SBA Specialists with the servicing/portfolio management of commercial Government Guaranteed loans (SBA 7A, USDA, SSBCI & 504) to ensure compliance with specific government guidelines and bank lending policies and practices. Perform portfolio management activities including reviews, renewals, and modifications of Government Guaranteed loans. Responsible for maintaining and adhering to credit quality goals established for the portfolio. Supports Credit Officer/Team Leader with the management of Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts. Responsible for reviewing existing small business loans to ensure that acceptable credit standards are maintained which conform to policy.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

A Day in the Life:

  • Assist in overseeing the integrity of existing GGL portfolio.
  • Ensure exceptional client support is being provided to the client base.
  • Analyze SBA servicing requests and provide loan decisions/recommendations based on a review of all necessary
  • Underwrite reviews, SBA servicing requests, and new money requests   assuring compliance with loan policy, SBA SOP, and credit quality standards.
  • Review and decision small business loan application credits up to approved loan authority.
  • Ensures timely processing of SBA servicing requests and consistently meets department SLA's and performance standards.
  • Perform the monitoring, review and ongoing servicing required for Government Guaranteed loan products per requirements of specific government guidelines.
  • Maintains on-going financial analysis of individual SBA relationships and communicates any material changes that are noted in financial analysis and makes recommendations for increased loan monitoring.
  • Performs necessary risk grade changes to ensure risk ratings are supported by current information.
  • Assist with the identification and analysis of Key Risk Indicators to identify historical activity while focusing on emerging risk/trends.
  • Monitors on an on-going basis, financial performance, and compliance with covenants for existing loans. Take appropriate action with proper communication on loans not in compliance, are past due, or exhibiting financial performance weaknesses. Reviews current account status, to include but not limited to, Past Due accounts and Notes Matured. Makes appropriate recommendations for these accounts.

  • Oversees and analyzes SBA Watch List accounts and reports.
  • Maintain an in-depth working knowledge of Government Guaranteed Lending products SOP's/guidelines and Bancorp credit policies, servicing guidelines and procedures.
  • Reviews loan portfolio for compliance with laws and regulations and recommends updates as required.
  • Reviews and recommends improvements to lending policies and procedures.
  • Performs other assignments as needed.

Supervisory Skills:

May provide direct leadership and supervision to junior underwriters, credit analysts, leadership program participants.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in accounting, finance, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years commercial credit and GGL government loan guarantee program experience.
  • Strong understanding of credit policy & procedures; ability to accurately risk-rate credit, and evaluate both, cash-flow, and collateral based loans.
  • Strong decision making and organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment and prioritize workflow.
  • Ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment.
  • Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement.
  • Proficient in Bank systems (AFS, ACE, Mobius) as well as Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Demonstrated above average problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like.
