We are seeking a Senior Technical CMC Lead to join our ambitious team, leading groundbreaking complex-molecule drug development projects and crafting the future of life sciences. This role is pivotal in ensuring flawless execution of CMC outcomes, encouraging collaboration across global teams, and driving innovation within our Global Analytical Development strategy.

Location:

This role can be based in Slough - United Kingdom, Basel - Switzerland, Visp - Switzerland, Singapore, or Remote (US East/West Coast)

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead diverse protein projects across the Lonza network with minimal oversight. Maintain clear communication with collaborators at all levels and with non-technical team members.
  • Lead matrix teams composed of individuals from various technical functions and sites to successfully implement customer projects with outstanding CMC outcomes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in two or more relevant areas within upstream, downstream, or analytics (DS and/or DP).
  • Achieve projects within agreed achievements, scope, and budget using lean methods. Demonstrate outstanding breakthroughs, documentation, risk management, and communication skills.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to external customers.
  • Lead improvement and harmonisation projects to benefit the entire Analytical Development network.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the long-term strategy for Global Analytical Development.

  • Proven analytical expertise in numerous analytical techniques.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated track record in collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to concisely and accurately communicate technical data and draw important conclusions and recommendations.
  • Strong team orientation, putting team success before individual achievements.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field of Science is required; an MSc or equivalent experience in Biopharmaceuticals is preferred.
  • Over 20 years of industry experience, including 10+ years in program management.
  • Significant 'Gravitas' required, encompassing confidence, composure, credibility, clarity, conviction, connection, decisiveness, and respect.
