As the Manager of US Compliance & Ethics Investigations, you will be responsible for the development of the Company’s US compliance and ethics investigations program. In this role you will serve as an integral member of R1’s global compliance and ethics investigations team, partnering with global colleagues to ensure consistent reporting, processing, and completion of investigations. On a daily basis as a leader, the Manager will deliver timely, closed-loop investigations and partner with key, cross-functional stakeholders to identify and report on trends and risks. As a visible leader and member of the Compliance & Risk team, to thrive in this role, the successful candidate will serve in furtherance of the Compliance & Risk team’s commitment to a proactive and robust partnership in identifying and addressing risks continuously.
Here’s what you will experience working as a Manager, Compliance & Ethics Investigations:
- Conduct in-depth US-based compliance and ethics investigations, ensuring they are executed sensitively and confidentially and with the highest levels of integrity, efficiency, and respectability
- Serve as primary and secondary investigator on sensitive, complex, or escalated investigations
- Develop best-in-class investigatory processes and practices
- Mentor junior investigators and oversee their case files from triage to case resolution
- Conduct field inquiries (e.g., site visits), interviews, research, analysis, and summary report writing to complete an investigation
- Identify and report on root causes, including guidance on risk mitigation strategies
- Direct management of R1’s EthicsPoint Hotline system to ensure that all reports are carefully and promptly handled, and appropriate follow-up action and tracking of such action is taken
- Ensure email communication is maintained, as well as triaging all inquiries sent to the Compliance inbox
- Develop and maintain relationships with R1’s Legal, Human Resources, IT, Finance, and Operations leadership to ensure proper visibility into identified misconduct, risks, and trends and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Prepare concise and timely metrics, reports, and presentations on activities related to investigations as required
- Present and communicate investigative case findings and justify investigative outcomes to leadership and other lines of business
- Partner with the Vice President, Compliance & Integrity | Insurance & Risk | ESG & Sustainability Program Operations in the successful implementation of the Compliance & Risk Department Compliance, Integrity, Insurance, Risk, and ESG program
- Partner with the Director, Compliance Education & Training in the development of compliance training content and communications, as informed by investigation experience and findings
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Integrity & Compliance Program Operations in the development or update of compliance and other company policies, as informed by investigation experience and findings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or a similar field of study
- At least 7+ years of investigative experience
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret detailed, complex written material and data
- Ability to simultaneously consider numerous facts, perceive patterns and relationships, develop theories about past occurrences based on numerous small bits of information or evidence, compare, and interpret information, recognize and examine discrepancies, and draw logical conclusions
- Ability to manage time to prioritize, manage, and oversee investigations and several cases at one time
- Understanding of healthcare and/or compliance, or strong ability to learn in the role
- Proficient computer skills (including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, Internet, and email) are required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organization skills, as well as change agent abilities
- Proven success at building relationships and credibility quickly with key stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated track records in quality and operational improvements, ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proven success in data analytics, trend reporting, and presenting analytics findings to leadership
- Proven success in effectively managing change across a large, distributed, and global organization / workforce
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $75,504.00 - $134,521.77 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 10.00%
