What is the opportunity?

As an RBC ambassador, you add value in the moments that matter most to newcomers and collaborate with RBC colleagues and partners to help newcomers achieve their goals. This role will be focused on partnership development through local community agencies that focus on helping newcomers with their settlement needs. This role will mobile, flexible and critical in establishing and hosting advice events for your community partners. This unique position calls on your digital first advice expertise as well as collaboration skills with external & internal One RBC partners to maximize interactions. Specifically, together with your team, you will help clients and non-clients (primarily newcomers) with their everyday banking, credit, investment needs as well as needs beyond banking opportunities. Whether you’re demonstrating how to use digital banking, assisting through the new client on-boarding process, referring a more complex opportunity to a specialist or providing advice to newcomers beyond RBC such as acclimatizing to Canadian culture, local community needs or joining the workforce, your expertise will contribute to creating meaningful and memorable experiences that drive satisfaction and loyalty.

What will you do?

  • Build and grow partnerships with newcomer support services and settlement agencies, to enable our ability to reach as many newcomers in BC as possible
  • You are a One RBC Advisor with a breadth and depth of expertise across everyday banking, investments and credit leveraging Advice Experiences with the ability to provide a robust digital first experience on both personal and business needs
  • Focus on newcomer education and demonstration, leveraging technology to deliver a memorable client experience, drive brand value and retain relationships
  • Inspire, orchestrate and pioneer superior partner and client experiences
  • Collaborate with One RBC Partners as well as partners beyond RBC to ensure newcomers receive customized, expert advice.
  • Travel in-market to meet with community partners and clients as required

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong understanding of the settlement process in Canada
  • A warm, friendly and approachable attitude with a demonstrated passion for putting clients first, as well as demonstrated success in a fast paced retail environment
  • Above average digital literacy across a broad range of devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) and can learn new technology very quickly
  • Superior emotional intelligence and situational awareness skills as well as problem solving and people skills with the ability to build strong relationships and to proactively connect with clients
  • Strong communication skills and a comfort level in public speaking during advice events.
  • Strong multi-tasker and self-starter who is comfortable working independently, as well as in a flexible environment
  • Mutual Funds accreditation (e.g., Investment Funds in Canada or the Canadian Securities Course)

Nice-to-have

  • Track record in building rapport and maintaining client relationships within the financial or service industry
  • Able to speak/communicate financial advice in languages other than English
  • Korean, Farsi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Punjabi, language skills are an asset
