Colleges and universities trust TimelyCare to provide complete clinical care, advanced technology, and expert guidance to improve student physical and mental health. As the leading virtual health and well-being solution for students, TimelyCare is inspiring the digital transformation of campus health and the future of student care.
TimelyCare has an immediate opening for a dynamic Lead Product Designer with expert level interaction and UX design experience to work as the most senior individual contributor on our Product Design Team.
As the Lead Product Designer, you will be the most senior individual contributor on our design team, reporting directly to the VP of Design. In this role, you’ll drive the design of engaging, end-to-end product experiences for students (patients), clinicians, and internal users across web and mobile platforms. This is a hands-on leadership position - ideal for someone who wants to remain on the individual contributor path (focused on craft and innovation rather than people management) while still influencing strategy and fostering team excellence. You’ll work across the organization to ensure our products are intuitive, compassionate, and effective, all while advancing TimelyCare’s mission-driven and innovative culture.

What You'll Do
Design End-to-End Experiences: Lead the design process from concept to launch delivering delightful, high-quality user experiences across web and mobile through thoughtful user journeys, wireframes, visuals, and prototypes.
Execute with Craftsmanship: Create polished, intuitive designs with a strong attention to detail, ensuring excellence in typography, interaction, and animation.
Cross-Platform Product Design: Build cohesive product experiences for diverse user groups - including student/patient-facing applications, clinician/provider tools, and internal operational platforms - ensuring consistency and usability across all touchpoints.
Collaborate & Influence: Work with product managers, clinicians, engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, explore solutions, and rapidly iterate. Use dynamic presentation and communication skills to champion human-centered design and a shared product vision.
Strategic Impact: Partner with the VP of Design and product leadership to inform product strategy, ensuring design perspectives inform broader decisions. Translate strategic goals into design outcomes, balancing innovative ideas with practical execution.
Design System Leadership: Evolve TimelyCare’s design system – defining reusable components, patterns, and guidelines that empower efficiency and consistency. Advocate for best practices in accessibility and responsive design across our products.
Mentor & Elevate Team: Guide and mentor junior designers and peers through design reviews and one-on-one coaching. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and collaboration, helping the team grow their skills and deliver their best work.
Drive Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in design and healthcare. Experiment with new ideas and AI-enabled design tools to streamline workflows or enhance the user experience, bringing innovative solutions to our products.
What You Bring
7+ Years Design Experience: Extensive experience designing and shipping exceptional web and mobile products. You have deep expertise in user-centered design, with a portfolio that showcases intuitive UX flows and beautiful, polished UI.
End-to-End Skill Set: Expertise in all design stages from research and ideation, to prototyping and high-fidelity visuals, turning complex problems into user-friendly solutions while owning the entire process.
Craft, Quality & Detail: An eye for detail and a passion for quality. You insist on the highest standards of design craftsmanship, ensuring every user interaction and visual element is purposeful and thoughtfully executed.
Agile & Adaptable: Thrives in fast-paced, Agile environments, quickly iterating, integrating feedback, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver incremental value.
Design Systems & Scalability: Hands-on experience developing design systems and UI pattern libraries, creating scalable solutions and ensuring consistency across a suite of products.
Leadership without Authority: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority, clearly articulate design rationale, inspire stakeholder and peer confidence, and navigate organizational dynamics to drive alignment.
Mentorship & Team Spirit: Proven experience mentoring designers and leading design initiatives as a senior individual contributor, fostering knowledge sharing and elevating the team's design maturity.
