Job description

Wanna join the adventure?

Loft Orbital builds space infrastructure based on “shareable” satellites, providing a fast & simple path to orbit for organizations that require access to space. Powered by our hardware & software products, we operate satellites using different buses, fly various customer payloads , and handle entire missions from end to end - significantly reducing the lead-time and risk of a traditional space mission.

The Hub Systems Verification & Validation Manager works in the Product Systems Engineering team, which is responsible for designing the Space Infrastructure that allows Loft to connect our internal and customer payloads to the satellite bus and to the ground system. Our scope of work covers mechanical, electrical, embedded systems and core software topics. The depth goes from externally sourced to fully vertically integrated in-house development and validation.

You will play a critical role by defining and owning the roadmap for validation & verification activities across the Hub system. You'll coordinate V&V activities between multi-disciplinary teams across hardware and software, Ground and Flight products, and Test Infrastructure. You'll define the overall roadmap for validation & verification across our Hub product. Loft is making a disruptive change in the industry by offering time on on-orbit systems for use by customers; the validation of the Hub as a system will be key to making sure our core building blocks are working together.

*Research shows that while men apply to jobs where they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized people tend to only apply when they meet 100% of the qualifications. At Loft, we value respectful debate and people who aren’t afraid to challenge assumptions.  We strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don’t check all the boxes.

About this role:
  • Define the overall validation & verification plan of the system made of various components being designed in-house by Loft called Hub and interconnected
  • Ensure the consistency with the validation & verification roadmaps of each flight product
  • Establish priorities & roadmap in coordination with the flight product, ground & test infra team leads.
  • Responsible for meeting schedule milestones at the various stages of the validation & verification plan.
  • Will support the resolution of the I&T and flight operation anomalies related to the Hub System

  • Must Haves:
  • Minimum 5-10 years electrical component development experience or systems engineering experience focused on the validation & verification of electrical systems with HW/SW interactions
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in Product Management & Life Cycle (development, production, operation)
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in data visualization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; capable of influencing others without formal authority.

  • Nice to Haves:
  • Proficient with Jira Global Configuration or familiar with the Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management).
  • Proficient in Python.
  • Previous experience working with an international team across time zones.
