The Medical Management Strategist is responsible for developing and executing strategic support for the Account Management and Sales teams, assisting with messaging and delivery of Medical Management impact reporting, and providing ongoing training. They have a comprehensive understanding of a client’s medical plan(s) and stop-loss contract, potential large claimants, and strategize with the Medical Management team. They utilize their past industry experience and critical thinking in a collaborative process to review and facilitate appropriate messaging.
Essential Functions
Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, understanding needs, and providing expert guidance on our Medical Management integrated approach, market advantage, and delivery of impact reporting.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to all parties involved related to value of cost containment and impact provided.
Support the Account Management team with quarterly and annual client meetings for key accounts to present impact reporting and key results to assist with client retention.
Provide ongoing training to the Account Management and Sales teams.
Effectively position and present Allied’s unique value proposition within the target market.
Collaborate on the development and execution of the Allied Care products with marketing to ensure materials on our cost containment and advocacy products are readily available and used.
Regularly analyze key dashboards and tools and ensure the Medical Management team is documenting impact provided for potential large claimants effectively.
Manage high-dollar large claim notifications, ensuring the appropriate team is working through the case and providing appropriate updates to internal and external partners.
Develop and maintain written operational procedures for all tasks performed and cross train to provide effective support to all team members.
Strategize with Medical Management Leadership to discuss trends identified related to member cases.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience And Skills
At least 3 years experience in an account management role required.
Excellent working knowledge of employee medical benefit plans required.
Experience with Group health insurance and self-funded health plans preferred.
Strong project management skills and ability to multitask.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
Public Speaking and an ability to present information regarding benefits and compliance.
