Job Summary

LaserAway is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Leave of Absence Administrator to support our company's leave management program. The Leave of Absence Administrator will be responsible for processing and managing all leave requests, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies, and providing guidance and support to employees and managers throughout the leave process. This role requires strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of leave laws and regulations, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information effectively.

Compensation

LaserAway offers a generous pay structure with significant earning potential through performance-based bonuses. Your compensation will reflect your experience and value, with room for growth and rewards tied to success.

The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $95,000, varying based on skills, experience, and location.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process and administer all types of leave requests, including but not limited to medical leave, family and medical leave, parental leave, and disability leave.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and company policies and procedures. As the business becomes eligible, register for additional state leave programs.
  • Review and evaluate leave documentation, including medical certifications, to determine eligibility and duration of leave.
  • Collaborate with employees, managers, and the HR team to facilitate the leave process, including providing guidance on documentation requirements, timeline, and return-to-work procedures.
  • Facilitate reasonable accommodations, under the ADA, in line with business needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date leave records, including documentation, approvals, and employee communications.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments, such as payroll and benefits, to ensure accurate and timely processing of leave-related information.
  • Monitor and track leave usage, including intermittent leaves, to ensure compliance with leave entitlements and manage potential abuse or misuse.
  • Stay updated on changes in leave laws and regulations, and communicate any updates or changes to the HR team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare, maintain, and provide timely reports and updates related to leave usage and trends.
  • Assist in developing and implementing leave-related policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Work collaboratively with the Benefits Department by assisting with general benefits-related inquiries, as needed.
  • Support the continuous improvement of leave-related processes and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in leave management or a related HR role.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, and state-specific regulations. California experience required.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures related to leave management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in HRIS and leave management software/systems, e.g. ADP, Lincoln Financial Group, Kronos.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
