Description

About us

We are Digital Science and we are advancing the research ecosystem.
We are a pioneering technology company, and our vision is of a future where a trusted and collaborative research ecosystem drives progress for all. We believe in better, open, collaborative and inclusive research. In creating the next generation of tools and working in partnership with the community we tackle some of the biggest challenges to research. In order to achieve our vision, we need innovative, inspiring and dynamic people to join our team. Want to join us?

Your new role

Digital Science is seeking a Principal Product Manager (B2C) to drive revenue and product growth across our industry-leading B2C product suite. This includes established products like Overleaf, Writefull and ReadCube, as well as new AI-driven and mobile app initiatives.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product development, go-to-market, and executive teams to shape, prioritise, and deliver high-impact product initiatives that enhance user experience and drive business outcomes. You'll be responsible for defining strategy, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring our B2C offerings continue to serve our customers.

Reporting to the Product Director (Overleaf), you will work closely with Executive and Senior Vice Presidents, alongside functional leaders from Analytics and Design across our matrix organisation. To succeed, you will need to develop a deep understanding of Digital Science’s entire B2C product ecosystem—both from a commercial, technology and product perspective.

Please be aware that we may close this position early if we receive a high volume of applications, so we encourage you to apply promptly.

Please also note that due to business need, we can only accept applications from candidates who live in the following locations:
  • UK
  • Spain
  • Germany
  • Romania
If you apply from outside of these areas, unfortunately your application will not be considered.

What you’ll be doing

Product success:

  • You will primarily be responsible for driving our B2C growth strategy. You will own our B2C growth framework and will be responsible for all aspects of experimentation.
  • You will identify and execute experiments that increase user acquisition, activation, retention and monetisation across the lifecycle of our B2C product suite.
  • You will work closely with go-to-market teams to deliver high-impact product lead growth initiatives. This includes but is not limited to improving onboarding experiences and optimising paid conversion funnels.
  • Expand AI and mobile offerings. Identify and develop new opportunities in AI-driven tools and mobile apps to enhance our B2C portfolio and drive long-term business success.

Product management:

  • Be a trusted product expert, consistently applying your deep knowledge of the business, customers, and technology to your product work.
  • Provide visibility to and inspire confidence in all stakeholders, both external and internal, with respect to our product roadmap and development plans.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and regularly report on product performance to stakeholders.
  • Have and apply a solid and pragmatic understanding of common Product Management practices, determining and applying the best framework or methodology for any given situation.
  • Guide or mentor others. This role does not include line management, but we would like you to pass on your knowledge and experience to the rest of the team.

Vision, strategy, and prioritisation:

  • Guide the long-term strategy, vision, and roadmap for your product area, ensuring they directly contribute to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and competitive advantage.
  • Leverage insights from data analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and inform product strategy.
  • Assess, manage, and communicate the prioritisation of features and initiatives, using data, insights, and strategic alignment to determine their relative value, viability, and urgency.
  • Monitor product performance, using data analytics, metrics, and user feedback to identify areas for optimization and make data-driven decisions.
  • Maintain an awareness of the competitive B2C landscape by undertaking research to understand how other consumer products implement effective growth strategies.

Product development and practice:

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and later to end-of-life, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution.
  • Manage product ideation within your product areas (including idea generation, analysis, and documentation), continuously looking for the best way to solve business problems and improve user experience.
  • Specify and validate requirements required for comprehensive product development, including the creation and maintenance of high-quality product artefacts such as PRDs, epics, and user stories.
  • Own validation of development work ensuring delivery of value to the customer and business.
  • Facilitate collaboration between members of our cross-functional product teams.

What you’ll bring to the role

You will have:

  • At least 5 years experience in Product Management working on B2C consumer technology products as a Senior or Principal Product Manager.
  • Experience driving product strategy across a product portfolio in a matrix organisation.
  • High numeracy with experience in quantitative techniques, such as A/B and MVT testing.
