Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis - North America Commercial Operations, you are responsible for the financial planning and analysis of the North American commercial business at Arc’teryx. You, along with your team will support business strategy through ownership of the P&L across our Retail, eCommerce and Wholesale channels and you will be instrumental in driving the vision for North America’s growth during the long-range planning process. You will provide senior management with the analysis to understand business trends, improve performance, and forecast profitability and financial position for the upcoming quarter and year ahead.
This role can be hired remote. Remote candidates must be committed to Pacific time zone hours aligned with the ARC’TERYX headquarters location in North Vancouver, B.C.

The Financial Planning & Analysis team at Arc’teryx is responsible for providing leadership with the information they need to review past performance, understand business trends, and anticipate future profitability and financial position. Through review of historic financials, variance analysis and KPI tracking, FP&A advises leadership on key investment decisions and performance improvement.
If you were the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis - North America Commercial Operations, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:Leading a high performing group within the NAM FP&A team that supports the success of our Retail, eCommerce and Wholesale channels to help deliver Arc’teryx’ company strategy within North AmericaActing as the primary FP&A business partner to the North America Commercial Leaders, supporting them with annual budget and subsequent reforecasting cycles for sales, margin and operating costsOwning the long-term five-year sales plan for North America, responsible for maintaining the plan, articulating key sales growth drivers to Leadership including quantification of investment required to support long term strategySupporting the NAM FP&A team with the continued development and evolution of weekly and monthly tracking reports, and provide supporting analysis for strategic leadership team Providing commentary for weekly, monthly and quarterly budget: actual variance analysis on financial and operating metrics Leading key sales planning meetings, including coordination of the meeting materials and content (eg weekly drive sales) Collaborating with the Commercial team to support management of direct opex spend in retail stores, ecom and wholesale channel through monthly budget to actual reporting and variance analysisPartnering with the FP&A, Supply Chain team to understand inventory availability and seasonal drops and the alignment of product and financial plans, driving key discussions around phasing of inventory timing and how this impacts sales performance vs planPartnering with the Store Development team in the evaluation of retail store business cases for new sites, relocations and assess renovation ROILeading the development of new store opening reporting, cohort analysis and omni-channel success in key epicentersAre you our next Director, Financial Planning & Analysis - North America Commercial Operations?You have 10+ years of experience as a finance leader within the retail industry You have a university degree in Commerce or Business Administration coupled with CPA or MBA You have exceptional analytical and modeling skills and expert knowledge of financial statementsYou ideally have international business experienceYou have demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization You can step in and take charge with minimum instruction You can prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines You have excellent written and verbal communication skills You have experience working with BI tools and multi-platform, multi-currency environments You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment You have an interest or involvement in activities that we make products for Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it Equal Opportunity
