  • Provide legal counsel on international and domestic equipment transactions, including buying, selling, leasing, and financing.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with attention to both U.S. and Chilean legal standards.
  • Advise on compliance with local regulations and ensure alignment with Chilean tax law and financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist in resolving legal disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation support, collaborating with JWL’s U.S.-based litigation team when necessary.

Attorney – Equipment Industry (Chile / Remote)
Location: Remote (Based in Chile)

Our Client is a premier legal firm specializing in the equipment industry, dedicated to supporting manufacturers, dealers, lessors, and other stakeholders involved in the buying, selling, leasing, and financing of equipment. With deep expertise in navigating complex transactions, safeguarding legal interests, and resolving disputes effectively, we focus on contracts, compliance, risk management, and litigation. 

They are expanding globally and are seeking a dedicated, experienced Attorney based in Chile to join our growing team remotely. This is a unique opportunity to work with a U.S.-based legal team at the forefront of the equipment industry. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in transactional law and a solid understanding of Chilean national tax compliance and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transactional Legal Support: Provide legal counsel on international and domestic equipment transactions, including buying, selling, leasing, and financing.

  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with attention to both U.S. and Chilean legal standards.

  • Compliance & Tax Oversight: Advise on compliance with local regulations and ensure alignment with Chilean tax law and financial reporting requirements.

  • Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving legal disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation support, collaborating with JWL’s U.S.-based litigation team when necessary.

  • Client Engagement: Act as a trusted legal advisor to clients, understanding their commercial goals and delivering practical, business-oriented legal solutions.

  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed on developments in the equipment and construction sectors and Chilean regulatory updates impacting clients.

Qualifications

  • Education: JD or equivalent legal degree from an accredited law school.

  • Licensure: Licensed to practice law in Chile.

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in transactional law, preferably in the equipment, construction, or industrial sectors.

  • Language: Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required.
