Site Reliability Engineer II 

Job Description Summary 

Forcepoint is looking for Site Reliability Engineer II who will be part of the Incident Management team (within the Cloud Operations team). This individual will be responsible for the monitoring and support of Forcepoint’s cloud-based services. The Engineer will be expected to monitor and maintain the infrastructure that runs our SaaS services, as well as ensure these services are running at peak performance. 
As a member of our Incident Management team, you will be responsible for maintaining the services and assisting in automation that enables Forcepoint’s services in the cloud. This is an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of cloud automation and gain hands-on experience in monitoring and managing container-based applications. 

Job Description 

  • Provide real-time monitoring, triage, and escalation of critical and major issues and incoming alarms within the environment 

  • Lead incident management calls and coordinate response, triage, recovery, and reporting of incidents 

  • Ensure complete engagement through to service restoration and ensuring senior leadership is aware of activities being carried out 

  • Expand and mature existing incident response processes and activities - manage and administer the runbook 

  • Partner with Engineering teams and TS to prepare and present reports for incidents, their impact, and resolution including RCA 

  • Implement and utilize senior SRE developed tools for incident response 

  • Assist in the development of resilient and self-scaling systems

  • 2-4 years of combined experience in DevOps, SRE, and/or Unix/Linux system administration 

  • Hands-on experience with cloud architecture and deploying infrastructure in a cloud environment 

  • Sound networking experience (TCP/IP, BGP routing, load balancing, DNS) 

  • Strong experience with Linux 

  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc.) 

  • Experience with configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, and/or Salt) 

  • Experience with monitoring tools and CI/CD toolchain (Git, Jenkins etc) 

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Linux containers, and/or Docker is preferred 

  • Experience using Python, Java, or Go is preferred 

  • Must be willing to work in shifts and support on-call requirements as needed
