Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. This contract-to-hire position is 100% remote, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud-based solutions and infrastructure.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based environments while ensuring best practices for governance, security, and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build and manage scalable, reliable, and secure AWS cloud solutions.
Responsibilities:
Implement policies and best practices for cloud governance across AWS environments
Serve as the subject matter expert for cloud identity and access management (users, groups, roles, policies)
Manage cloud architecture, migration, platform development, and application deployment
Host and optimize web applications on AWS, focusing on performance management, load balancing, security, firewalls, vulnerability management, and audit support
Set up and maintain CICD pipelines for deploying cloud-based solutions
Leverage AWS services such as EC2, Fargate, Cloudfront, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, KMS, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch
Apply security best practices to the AWS environment, including patching and EC2 management
Use AWS CloudFormation and Terraform for infrastructure automation
Write and maintain scripts using shell and Python for cloud automation and orchestration
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of experience with the AWS platform
AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional certification required
Proven hands-on experience with cloud architecture, migration, and platform development
Expertise in cloud identity and access management, including users, roles, policies, and groups
Hands-on experience with AWS services, including CloudFront, SNS, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, Cognito, WAF & Shield, SecurityHub, Certificate Manager, VPC, EC2, and more
Experience in setting up CICD pipelines and deploying cloud-based solutions
Knowledge of security best practices and patch management within AWS environments
Experience with AWS CloudFormation and Terraform
Scripting experience with Shell and Python
Experience with AWS GovCloud is a plus
Preferred Experience:
Experience with non-native services such as Splunk, CloudBees, and New Relic
Skills:
Cloud architecture design and implementation
Cloud security and compliance management
Scripting and automation (Shell, Python)
AWS services (EC2, Fargate, Cloudfront, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.)
CICD pipeline setup and management
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
