About the Role:

Under the supervision of the Manager, Engineering, the Senior Software Development Engineer will own and shape areas of technology stacks to bring business-critical features to customers. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the United States based on manager approval.

You Will:

• Develop tools and automation techniques to deploy and monitor software applications with strong safety nets and low operational overhead. 

• Develop advanced, well-instrumented, and well-documented infrastructure tools and systems to ensure fast paced and impactful customer experiences. 

• Create software solutions for complex technical problems across multiple systems. 

• Evaluate new technologies and industry best practices to identify trends and scenarios to advance Remitly’s technology platform and ensure continuous improvement. 

• Mentor junior engineers.

You Have:

• Position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Management, Information Technology, or a related STEM field, and 2 years of experience with software design, development, testing, and implementation.

• 1 year of experience with building scalable services and distributed systems.

• 1 year of experience with delivering high-quality, high-readability, and scalable software solutions.

• 1 year of experience with driving technical designs within a team.

• 1 year of experience with full-stack development, product development, and web development.

• 1 year of experience with mentoring junior engineers. 

• 1 year of experience with AWS, Go, Java, JavaScript, OAUTH, PHP, Python, React, and TypeScript.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180,000.00 - $225,000.00. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
