DUTIES:

         

  • Manage the overall data platform and infrastructure and mentor the team of data engineers.
  • Develop processes, expand technology roadmap, plan features, measure outputs, and ensure quality products.
  • Derive analytical insights from a variety of business contexts and communicate those insights effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Manage design and development of software and processes to support large scale, efficient data pipelines and optimize the availability of data to generate insights and address business needs.
  • Translate technical business goals and requirements into designs utilizing best practice design patterns and partner with engineering leads, product managers, and design leads in shaping and guiding the technical direction for the data engineering team.
  • Manage the planning, prioritization and execution of data production projects and processes and the activities of team of data engineers responsible for developing software code that formats, tags, processes, stores and delivers data.
  • Develop the standards and processes required to ensure the delivery of high-quality data products.
  • Participate in code reviews and help lead technical discussions, accountable for the maintenance of agile processes and ceremonies for the data team.
  • Manage and oversee the automation of key ETL / ELT (Extract / Transform / Load) and quality assurance (in collaboration with quality engineering team) processes for large volumes of data and migrations of workloads.
  • Perform and monitor data governance, data quality, integrity, standards, master data management, metadata strategy, and business intelligence/analytics.
  • Contribute to decisions on key technology choices for data pipelines to ensure that they are scalable, repeatable, secure, and can serve users at scale in the organization.
  • Allocate available resources to meet operating objectives and provide team leadership, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Position reports to Centene headquarters at 7700 Forsyth Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63105 and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.
  • Telecommuting permitted 100% of the time.
  • No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • In addition, experience with the following skills is required: (1) Utilizing ETL tools including Python, Pyspark, Contour and Spark SQL to create solutions and build complex ETL processes to ingest, stage, transform, or create data sets with auditing and monitoring capabilities; (2) Architecting, designing, and implementing large projects using cloud-based Big Data solutions such as Snowflake and Foundry; (3) Utilizing project support and time tracking systems such as JIRA and Tempo; and (4) Utilizing Lean and Agile software development practices and methodologies to coach, develop, and monitor team productivity and efficiency.

JOB SITE:                7700 Forsyth Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63105

WORK HOURS:         Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week [8:00 am to 5:00 pm]

PAY RANGE:             $179,088.00 to $186,800.00 per year
