We have an exciting opportunity in the IT Risk Management (Insurance Services) dept for an
IT Test Engineer Senior position. The Risk Management team is focused on the development of products (UI and APIs) for the claims management lifecycle, including claim processing, vehicle repair and damage recovery processes. Risk Management continuously strives to ensure the alignment of projects and products with organizational goals and objectives.
Job Summary:
The
IT Test Engineer Senior is responsible for assessing and evaluating quality assurance test requirements to determine the scope of the functionality to be covered by testing. This position designs, produces, executes, and maintains software test plans and test cases. The Test Engineer Senior tests applications while documenting, tracking, and reporting on defects. This position also analyzes test results, leverages troubleshooting skills to assist with defining root cause, and coordinates and/or conducts re-testing after defects are addressed.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, produces, executes, and maintains software test plans and test cases based on requirements and specifications.
- Works closely with development and test teams to ensure the final code delivery meets product standards.
- Assesses and evaluates quality assurance test requirements to determine scope of functionality to be covered by testing.
- Ensures software performs correctly, as specified, and meets quality and performance standards.
- Tests applications while documenting, tracking, and reporting on defects.
- Analyzes test results; leverages troubleshooting skills to identify, document, and reproduce issues; provides information to assist in defining root cause.
- Coordinates and/or conducts re-testing after defects are addressed.
- Provides and monitors quality control checkpoints throughout the application development process.
- Summarizes and publishes test results for internal customers.
- Generates appropriate documentation for issue tracking, verification, and certification.
- Establishes, fosters and maintains positive working relationships within the department.
- Interacts with other IT teams, business teams, and vendors, as assigned.
- Performs task automation and implements process improvements; recommends enhancements that result in increased quality and service.
- Assists with test automation initiatives and executes automated test suites, as required.
- Maintains and/or develops test automation scenarios, as required.

Qualifications
Required:
- Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii)
- Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- 3+ years of related experience in a QA/QC software testing environment, including identifying required testing, performing analysis, and developing associated test plans
- Experience testing Rest-based APIs, including familiarity with Postman or similar tools
- Experience testing Java-based web and client/server GUI applications· Knowledge of structured testing techniques and experience creating test scenarios
- Experience with MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel
- Ability to test a multi-application suite with internal and external integration points
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be productive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Flexible with changing priorities and managing multiple tasks at one time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate in a clear, concise manner and effectively interact with the application development team in test progress, risks, and defect resolution
- Effectively manages time, with the ability to work independently

- Knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and understanding how the role of testing fits into this lifecycle
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
- Experience with working in an Agile/Scrum development environment in sprint teams, using tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience using vendor software testing tools, such as JIRA to create and execute test scripts as well as log and track defects
- Testing on mobile tablet (Android, IOS)
- Knowledge/experience of Test Automation tools, specifically Karate and/or Selenium
