Job Location Profile

This role is 100% remote.

Our main office is located at 600 City Pkwy West in Orange, CA. Prospect Medical Systems houses employees from across the enterprise at this location, as well as several hotel offices and cubicles for our local remote employees. We are conveniently located near the Outlets of Orange and are accessible from the 5, 22, and 57 freeways for an easy commute. This location is near dining options and offers free on-site parking. Our other office locations include Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and San Antonio, TX as well!

Job Summary

The Application Architect is responsible for providing system and application solutions for the IRIS and IDX platform including data integrations with trading partners and all downstream applications. Helps to improve use of technology resources that impact IRIS and IDX platform by adopting proven industry standards and reduce vendor dependency as much as possible, without costing PMS added operational and maintenance in lieu of moving away from vendor products. Deliver technical guidance and support for PMS.

Essential Job Duties

  • Support daily escalations from application team(s), projects, and enterprise applications (IDX and IRIS with inbound and outbound data).
  • Ensure a strong and positive relationship with key stakeholders, peers, and users.
  • Respond to customer inquiries (commit dates, project or issue status, ETAs, ETRs) and set project goals and report progress.
  • Maintain or exceed SLAs for assigned work for quality, quantity, and communication measures.
  • Ensure adherence to Change management, Knowledge management and source control policies. Submit and present changes to change review board(s) as appropriate.
  • Works with staff as an escalation point and primary for AES programming for enhancements.
  • Act as SME for design issues and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Attend project and staff meetings – represent department, summarize and report salient issues, and handle appropriate initiatives independently.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work requested and work performed in both the work management system (ticketing/tracking) and knowledge management systems.
  • Monitor manual and automated data transmission inefficiencies for core system and create a solution design for data reliability, scalability, and maintenance plans.
  • Use of CM (change management), KM (knowledge management) and WM (work management) systems in accordance with policy.
  • Establish due dates for projects and continually meet deadlines on or before the end date.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement OFIs.
  • Communicate with assigned vendor. Ensure vendor meets agreed-upon deliverables and escalates issues or concerns.
  • Ensure data integrity for project and enterprise application portfolio.
  • Creates process improvement exceptions (overdue, missing information) and follow up to resolve.
  • Develop process and operating procedures around the application development process including communication (to/among all divisions) of any software deployment and process changes that are being implemented.
  • Troubleshoot Core application processes for errors. Identify information requirements to improve business processes and support critical business strategies. Responsible for issue resolution and maintenance of systems critical to business needs
  • Track and follow up on deliverables (both IT and customer projects)
  • Develop work objective and project schedules and ensure they are met in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain documentation as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Expert knowledge of AES programming and design architecture data flows for projects and enhancements.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare claims processing and tools (e.g. EDI, Authorizations, Referrals, Contracting, and Pricing).
  • Advanced knowledge of the IDX application and integrated bolt-on applications.
  • Intermediate skill with MS SQL (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
  • Intermediate Office 365 Suite Skills Required.
  • Intermediate project management skills required.
  • Intermediate Presentation Skills Required.
  • Good understanding of X12 data formats and XML

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (e.q. 4 years of experience deploying and supporting healthcare applications and integrations).
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience managing Claims processes and integrations with IDX application.
  • ITIL fundamentals certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with IRIS for Health/Cache database.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Baldrige, ISO, PMI).
  • Experience using project management processes, software, and tools is a plus.
  • Intermediate understanding of database performance tuning.
