Primary Function

The Appraisal Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Appraisal Department. The department oversees all ordered and completed appraisals for Direct to Consumer, Retail, and TPO channels and ensures all compliance aspects have been met. The Appraisal Coordinator works together with several departments as necessary, including Underwriting, Processing, and Production. The Appraisal Coordinator is one of the few people within the company with the authority to contact an appraiser directly.

Principal Duties

  • Ordering and managing of the company’s VA (Veterans Affairs) appraisal orders.
  • Delivering appraisals to the borrowers.
  • Entry of appraisal data into Destiny, NewRez’ LOS.
  • Reviewing transferred appraisals for risk and compliance. Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Requirements  

  • High-school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience in the mortgage industry a plus.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements  

  • Must possess the ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate careful decision-making skills
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
