SierTeK Ltd. is seeking an Appian Developer - Senior to support an opportunity remotely with preference for Dayton, OH or Washington, DC.
POSITION OVERVIEW SECTION
An Appian Developer will work remotely and play a crucial role in platform application development, requirements gathering, testing, and remediation. This role will be responsible for the development, configuration, and establishment of complex Appian functionalities, participating in backlog refinements to provide insights on acceptance criteria, and contributing to the design of mission critical Appian capabilities within the application while adhering to best practices. The developer will also support data modeling and testing. This role requires familiarity with Appian’s latest features and best practices.
Essential Job Functions
- Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to understand and refine user stories by adding detailed technical acceptance criteria, and drive quality and completeness of stories.
- Estimate effort and complexity for user stories and tasks during spring planning.
- Design, develop, and implement complex Appian capabilities, data records/models, and functionalities while adhering to best practices and design.
- Drive Design Review, Code Review, and Development best practices.
- Experience mentoring and leading development teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Appian applications and integrations.
- Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and contribute to the development of internal documentation and training materials.
- Provide testing support, including creating test cases and identifying testing needs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers and QA engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest Appian features, tools, and industry trends.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the continuous enhancement of development practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements
- US Citizenship - candidates being considered for a Public Sector roles must be a U.S. citizen
- Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of directly relevant industry experience.
- Appian Senior Developer certification or greater
- Familiarity with Appian testing methodologies
- Strong understanding of Appian architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Appian SAIL, process modeling, and integration capabilities.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and web services (REST/SOAP).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to navigate BA Workflow, Agile Scrum, and Project Management tools (Jira, MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Business Process / Rules repositories).
- Proven understanding and application of Waterfall, Agile Scrum, and Kanban software development methodologies.
