FISCAM AUDITOR

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented FISCAM Auditor with demonstrated expertise in Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) to join our dynamic audit team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of federal information system controls and a deep knowledge of federal financial management practices. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal regulations and enhancing internal audit processes and system control frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits in accordance with the Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM)
• Evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of IT general and application controls
• Assess compliance with federal financial management and reporting requirements
• Support FIAR initiatives by identifying control deficiencies and recommending remediation strategies
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports with findings, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of audit recommendations
• Monitor and interpret changes in relevant federal laws, regulations, and audit standards
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior audit staff on FISCAM and FIAR methodologies
• Participate in internal quality improvement efforts and recommend process enhancements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field
• CISA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in auditing with a focus on federal information systems and FIAR
• In-depth knowledge of FISCAM, FIAR, and federal IT control environments
• Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple audits or tasks and meet critical deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and audit software tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with federal financial management and ERP systems
• Familiarity with federal regulations and standards including FISMA, OMB Circular A-123, and NIST frameworks
• Knowledge of risk management and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT)
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
