Full Stack Web Developer (with AI Fluency)

Job Overview:

We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer with deep AI fluency to join our team at Ajar. Beyond building scalable, elegant web applications across the stack, this role is about driving AI integration at the core of our products and internal workflows.

This is a strategic hire. You’ll serve as our AI champion, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible by using modern tools, frameworks, and AI-assisted development methods. You’ll work closely with product and leadership teams to build features that are not only functional but intelligent and future-ready.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and build full-stack web applications using modern frameworks and best practices.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code primarily in TypeScript, Node.js, and related frameworks.
• Develop intuitive front-end architectures and components using Angular (or React/Next.js if applicable).
• Build and maintain performant, scalable, and secure back-end services and APIs.
• Create AI-friendly data architectures that support personalization, prediction, and intelligent automation.
• Leverage AI tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and other LLM-based dev assistants to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Proactively integrate AI/ML APIs and services into product features where relevant (e.g., NLP, predictive analytics, recommendation engines).
• Modernize and refactor legacy systems while maintaining stable production environments.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing strategies, and deployment pipelines.
• Participate in Agile processes: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and estimation.
• Work collaboratively across disciplines (Product, Design, Marketing, Ops) to deliver impactful features.
• Educate and support teammates on AI-powered tools and workflows to elevate overall team efficiency.
• Continuously seek ways to use AI to optimize internal processes, workflows, and user experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JS (ES6+).
• Solid experience with Angular or React, and back-end API development.
• Familiarity with Firebase, BigQuery, or other serverless/cloud-native environments.
• Strong understanding of SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL systems.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., Copilot, Tabnine, GPTs) to boost productivity.
• Exposure to integrating AI/ML APIs or working with vector databases, embeddings, or NLP services.
• Experience in automated testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, and Jasmine.
• Comfortable working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Clear communicator with excellent problem-solving skills and a growth mindset.
• Passionate about building great products — fast and smart.

Bonus Points:

• Experience deploying AI copilots or agents (e.g., for recruiting, customer support, internal tooling).
• Familiarity with SSR, microservices, or event-driven systems.
• Experience in Flutter or React Native for mobile apps.
• Previous experience leading AI-related initiatives or internal tooling rollouts.
