ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE


Are you an experienced Editor with expert knowledge of sports betting and IGaming content? If so, The Sporting News wants to hear from you.


We are seeking a driven, ambitious Senior Editor Betting to help us scale our affiliate sports betting and IGaming content across our international territories. 


The successful candidate will oversee the planning and execution of our affiliate sports betting content across multiple regions, languages and TSN editions, including in Europe, India, Asia and Latin America. 


Responsibilities will include planning, sub-editing and writing compelling intent-driven editorial, social and multimedia content in English to drive audience engagement and conversion for our partners. You also need to build and maintain a pool of freelance staff based around the globe to deliver across multiple languages. 


You’ll need to liaise directly with regional content leads and our affiliate partners to define content strategy, publishing and SEO best practices and delivery, so previous experience in the sports betting and IGaming space, preferably managing a team, is essential. 


THE KEY DETAILS:

  • Reporting to: Managing Editor Global Operations 
  • Pay: Circa £45K p/a GBP
  • Location: Remote, with option to utilise SN office in London

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating and executing content plans that drive audience and affiliate conversion against key sports betting and IGaming topics.
  • Daily editing and writing of sports betting and IGaming content in English, including reviews, predictions, promotions, casino and other topics.
  • Building and managing a global freelance network of content creators to hit ambitious KPIs, including setting briefs.
  • Working directly with affiliate partners to define content strategy and publishing best practices, including SEO.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting to track content performance.
  • Working directly with SN’s regional leads to execute content plans that drive sports betting and IGaming audience and affiliate conversion in non-English languages.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Significant experience producing and managing sports betting and IGaming affiliate content, ideally working across some of SN’s global territories.
  • An excellent editing background, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Good SEO knowledge.
  • A highly efficient planner, able to work independently to define content ideas and communicate priorities effectively.
  • Experience of managing and motivating a team to deliver success against ambitious targets.
  • Confidence to deal directly with both partners and internal and external stakeholders at a senior level. 
  • A team player, who will fit with the dynamic, collaborative ethos of SN.
