HVAC Controls Technician

Ameresco has a new opportunity for a Controls Technician to join our Smart Building Solutions team based in Bradenton/Sarasota/Tampa area.  The successful candidate will work on new construction and retrofit projects in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools and industrial facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of technical functions, such as programming, integration, system startup, service, commissioning, owner training and project record documents.

• Ensures client expectations are met and takes a lead role in developing client relationships. 

• Establishes and maintains open communication with clients, and project manager, to keep all essential project activities running smoothly.

• Assists with the development and improvement of related processes, procedures, and tools.

• Reinforces safe work practices, and ensures all safety requirements are adhered to, in accordance with the safety program of the Company.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with HVAC controls or building automation control systems in commercial building applications.

• Previous work experience with building automation systems. Specific experience with systems manufactured by Automated Logic, Alerton, Delta, Distech, Reliable, Computrol, JCI, Siemens, Trane, and/or Tridium are preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.

• Basic technological proficiency and familiarity with iPad operation.

• Basic understanding of electricity and electrical circuits.

• Previous experience with troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and programming building controls systems.

• Valid driver’s license in good standing and the ability to travel to various job sites as required.

• Experience with Bacnet, LON, or Modbus.

• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry and move objects up to 50 pounds.
