Director, Product Management – Data 

Overview: We are looking for an inspiring, technically savvy, driven leader for our Director of Product Management – Data roleThis role will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy, development, and optimization of our data assets, ensuring they provide maximum value to our customers. You will work cross-functionally to enhance data quality, scalability, and accessibility, directly impacting our ability to deliver market-leading sales intelligence, B2B insights, and go-to-market strategies. This position requires a mix of deep data expertise, product vision, and leadership skills to influence and execute on high-impact initiatives.  This role will report to the VP of Product, Data Strategy and Ops.   

Responsibilities:  

  • Define and drive the vision and roadmap for data asset development, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Identify and prioritize initiatives that improve data coverage, accuracy, timeliness, and reliability.
  • Develop and optimize strategies for data sourcing, ingestion, transformation, and delivery to end-users.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry best practices (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact and success of data asset initiatives.
  • Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert on data strategy, advocating for data-driven decision-making across the organization. 

Leadership  

  • Lead a team of high performing product managers and inspire them to do the best work of their lives, focused on conceiving, building, and launching user-focused, high-quality products.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, operations, and GTM teams, to enhance data acquisition, enrichment, and usability.
  • Anticipate and remove obstacles that slow down or prevent us from delivering on product and program objectives.  
  • Establishes operational objectives and drive processes with the team to generate plans in a consumable format.
  • Set strong goals and metrics, measure achievement, and drive for the big wins.
  • Be data obsessed and make data backed decisions in trade-offs and priorities. 

Stakeholders  

  • Be a strong partner to GTM teams.  Seek to understand their blockers to delivery and how the Platform Enablement team can help.
  • Regularly interact with senior management on matters concerning several functional areas.  
  • Liaise with other team members and peers from development, product management, design, analytics, data science, customer success, marketing, sales and other stake holders to ensure product needs are captured into requirements and to drive consensus.  
  • Drive the roadmap development, refinement, and review process with all key stakeholders.  
  • Strong communication skills with experience in driving the product narrative (internally and externally), conflict resolution and consensus-building.

  • Ability to switch the level of abstraction from the “big picture” strategy to micro-level details depending on the audience and context. 
  • Support and engage with customers, partners, industry analysts, and executives to build and share our point-of-view and drive strategic market initiatives.  
  • Formulate a long and short-term product strategy to develop product roadmaps and drive execution across the organization by developing relationships and making strategic tradeoffs to meet objectives.  
  • Maintain deep understanding of competitive position and deliver products that are recognized as best in the industry as it relates to B2B advertising and targeting.
  • Participate in industry forums to learn, influence, and represent the company’s interests.
  • Roll up sleeves when required on projects to think critically about requirements and user needs.
  • Review and write PRDs, help Prod Managers refine backlogs, identify areas for product improvement and innovation, and effectively help to prioritize new features vs. tech debt.   

Qualifications  

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in product management, managing product strategy and roadmaps in technology focused business. 
  • 5+ years of management experience in leading small to mid-size product management teams, mentoring junior product managers and supporting senior product managers.  
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data engineering, machine learning models, and ETL processes.
  • Deep experience with large-scale datasets, data enrichment techniques, and third-party data partnerships.
  • Familiarity with data compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex data strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to leverage data to drive strategic decision-making and measure impact.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, data science, sales, and marketing teams to bring data-driven products to market. 

 

Base Salary Range: $208,802.25 - $270,243.30. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of 6sense’s total compensation package for this position. Other compensation may include a bonus program or commission plan, and stock options if approved by 6sense’s board. In addition, 6sense provides a variety of benefits, including generous health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, self-care days, and paid time off (PTO). #Li-remote
