Senior Localization Project Manager - US

Job Summary:

The Senior Localization Project Manager will lead complex multilingual projects while actively executing hands-on tasks. This role requires exceptional communication skills, flexibility in schedule, and the ability to collaborate across global teams. The candidate will ensure seamless project delivery while driving client satisfaction and process improvements.

Location:

Priority to candidates in Chicago, Los Angeles/Gardena (CA), or North Carolina (NC).

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end localization projects, including planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management, ensuring on-time delivery within quality standards.
  
• Directly execute project tasks (e.g., CAT tool analysis, quote preparation, linguistic coordination) while managing cross-functional teams.
  
• Build strong client relationships: Proactively communicate with clients to align expectations, resolve issues, and provide transparent updates.
  
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with global operations, sales, and Business Development Directors.
  
• Drive innovation: Leverage AI/ML tools and automation to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.
  
• Contribute to process improvements by analyzing project metrics and implementing scalable solutions.
  

Requirements:

Must-Have (Non-Negotiable):

• Exceptional communication skills: Ability to influence stakeholders, present complex processes clearly, and maintain a client-first approach.
  
• Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English (written and verbal).
  
• Flexibility: Willingness to work non-traditional hours to align with global teams (Central Time zone preferred).
  
• Proactive attitude: Demonstrated problem-solving skills and agility in fast-paced environments.
  

High Priority:

• 5+ years of localization industry experience, including hands-on project execution.
  
• Proficiency in CAT tools (Trados, memoQ) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  

Preferred:

• Team leadership experience: Ability to mentor and coordinate distributed teams.
  
• Technical background: Familiarity with AI/ML applications in localization (e.g., NLP, automation tools).
  
• Industry expertise: Experience with regulated sectors (Life Sciences, Finance) or financial clients.
  

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Life Sciences, Project Management, or related field. Technical degrees (CS, AI) or certifications (PMP) are a plus.
