Job description

Role: Events Manager

Base Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 USD

Description: The Events Manager is responsible for leading Blackthorn’s event strategy across third-party sponsorships, hosted field events, executive dinners, and webinars. This role will drive awareness, pipeline, customer retention, and partner relationships through thoughtfully executed in-person and virtual experiences.

This is a cross-functional role, collaborating closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Alliances to ensure events align with our go-to-market strategy and business goals. As a highly visible individual contributor, you’ll become a power user of Blackthorn. You’ll act as a subject-matter expert, evangelizing our capabilities publicly, providing hands-on feedback to our Product team, and influencing the roadmap based on your deep understanding of event needs and customer pain points.

What you'll do

  • Own event strategy and execution for Blackthorn’s participation in third-party conferences, partner events, hosted field events, executive dinners, and select internal events (e.g., Sales Kickoffs).
  • Collaborate with Sales, Alliances, and the Integrated Campaign Manager to select the right events based on our ICP, target industries, and goals.
  • Own and manage the event budget, ensuring strategic allocation and tracking ROI across event types.
  • Lead logistics and planning, including venue sourcing, vendor management, staffing, signage, swag, booth experiences, catering, AV, and timelines.
  • Bring creative ideas to life that make our brand stand out and create memorable, immersive experiences for attendees.
  • Create pre-, during-, and post-event plans, ensuring we drive meaningful engagement and follow-up with attendees to maximize pipeline and ROI.
  • Support virtual events and webinars, collaborating with the marketing team to ensure smooth execution and compelling experiences.
  • Partner with the Customers & Alliances Marketing Manager to identify co-marketing and partner activation opportunities around events.
  • Track and measure event performance and ROI; use data to make recommendations for future investments.
  • Maintain and manage the event calendar, working across teams to avoid conflicts and optimize coverage.
  • Evangelize Blackthorn externally through events and relationships, and provide ongoing product feedback to help evolve our platform.

What we look for:

  • 4-6+ years of experience in B2B event marketing, field marketing, or event planning — ideally in SaaS or tech.
  • Proven success executing a variety of event types: third-party sponsorships, hosted events, executive dinners, and webinars.
  • Strong project management skills with extreme attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple events simultaneously.
  • Strategic mindset: You think beyond logistics to how events drive brand, pipeline, and customer outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. You’re comfortable directing peers and managers in support of event goals.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new tools and becoming a product expert. Familiarity with Salesforce, Zoom webinars, and other event technology tools is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for working as a “team of one” — you enjoy building the strategy as much as creating the content and measuring your impact.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • Ability to travel to events, primarily in the U.S. (Approx. 15-25%)

What we offer

  • An incredible team of smart and supportive people
  • A deep feeling of satisfaction and completion
  • Fully remote global team working from home
  • Stock options for every employee
  • Flexible work week
  • $400 office stipend
  • Maternity/Paternity leave
  • Student loan debt assistance
  • Pledge 1% - time off during the year for helping nonprofits
  • Health insurance contribution (if in the US)
  • Children's 529 college fund assistance (if in the US)

About Blackthorn

We have four native apps on the Salesforce AppExchange for managing Events, collecting Payments, sending Messages, and protecting Data. We’re a growing, distributed team with teammates in countries across the world. We move fast and have a significant structure in our product build process. Everyone on our team has deep experience within their respective roles. Our customers span from 1-person companies to Fortune 500s.

Why is our work important

Our apps continue to be easy to use and setup, due to continuous refinements with our UX. Most apps in our space take weeks to implement; ours take hours, and they work more flexibly, achieving significantly more functionality than our competitors. We believe enterprise apps should be as easy to use as consumer mobile apps.

What the job will bring you

A deep level of satisfaction through ownership of your role. You'll get more autonomy than at other companies (our team has told us). Connection. Our team is tightly knit, assisted through our annual company trip (as we're remote). Challenge. We're trying to move as quick as possible. This is not for you if you want to sit back and chill. As Ray Dalio says about life: "Meaningful work and meaningful relationships" provide meaning to life. We aim to bring this.
