Job description

Job Title: SYEP Project-Based Learning Facilitator 

Job Summary: 

CASES is seeking a passionate and experienced SYEP Project-Based Learning Facilitator to join our Education, Career and Enrichment department. The facilitator will play a crucial role in designing and implementing project-based learning activities that enhance the skills and career readiness of our youth participants. This position requires strong educational and facilitation skills, a commitment to youth development, and the ability to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.  

This position will be remote and entails a 20-hour weekly commitment. CASES will provide an agency cell phone and laptop for the duration of employment. Due to the nature of SYEP, a PBL Facilitator must commit to working a total of 20 hours per week from June through August.   

 

Shift Hours: 20 hours per week; Based on department needs. 

Location Address: 4 West 125th Street New York, NY 10027. 

Workplace Flexibility: Flexible (for roles that have days that can be partially remote, e.g., being able to draft notes at home after going to the office/community in the morning). 

Salary: The salary for the SYEP Project Based Learning Facilitator is $25.00p/h. 

What you will be doing: 

  •  Assist with Managing all incoming applications and supporting documentation for 14–15-year-old applicants.  
  • Work with supervisors to develop PBL activities for youth for the duration of the summer. 
  • Provide prompt communication with stakeholders including parents, referral partners, and participants.  
  • Track and manage SYEP’s Orientation through Hats and Ladders curriculum to youth applicants.   
  • Ensure proper program enrollment and PBL placement for youth.   
  • Facilitate designed project-based learning activity via zoom and using other virtual tools. 
  • Support Program Supervisor with the maintenance of timesheet collection, weekly assessments, and troubleshooting of any workplace issues.   
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders, including referral partners, parents, and participants.  
  • Comply with all documentation requirements promptly.   
  • Attend virtual team meetings as assigned by the ECS Supervisor of Work Experiences. 
  • Perform other duties as required by the ECS Supervisor of Work Experiences and the ECS Director.

 

What we are looking for:  

  • Experience with SYEP is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask. 
  • Ability to engage young people in virtual platforms and maintain engagement throughout programming.  
  • Experience in customer service.      
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; and fluency in the use of Google Docs, Zoom and other virtual platforms.   
  • Experience working with youth and families.   
  • Ability to apply youth development principles and commitment to work from a strengths-based perspective.
