Job description

Natcast (short for The National Center for the Advancement of Semiconductor Technology) is a new, purpose-built, non-profit entity created to operate the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC) consortium, established by the CHIPS Act of the U.S. government.

In this role you will contribute to the future of semiconductor workforce development by facilitating connections between industry leaders, educational institutions, and workforce organizations across the United States. 

Every day you will engage with diverse stakeholders to build and maintain programs that strengthen America's semiconductor talent pipeline through innovative workforce development initiatives. 

To thrive in this role, you must be organized and outgoing; have a basic understanding of the semiconductor industry, genuine passion for workforce development, and excel at building relationships across multiple stakeholder groups. 

Natcast stands at the forefront of America's semiconductor renaissance as the operator of the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC). Established through the CHIPS and Science Act, Natcast brings together industry, academia, and government partners to advance semiconductor innovation and develop the skilled workforce needed to maintain U.S. leadership in this critical technology sector. 

The Workforce Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in Natcast's mission by coordinating and implementing programs that connect semiconductor industry stakeholders with workforce development resources. You will leverage your previous experience as an HR, Recruiting, Workforce Development or Training professional within the semiconductor industry to build communities that foster collaboration between NSTC members such as industry peers and academic institutions. This position directly impacts America's technological competitiveness by helping build the skilled workforce needed to support domestic semiconductor manufacturing and innovation. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and support Communities of Practice development for NSTC members 

  • Develop and manage webinar series for semiconductor workforce ecosystem stakeholders 

  • Support workforce partnership initiatives and existing talent development programs 

  • Assist in administering national leadership programs for semiconductor workforce development 

  • Maintain databases tracking team activities, member engagement, and resource sharing 

  • Facilitate networking and information exchange among ecosystem stakeholders 

  • Create and distribute reports on workforce development progress and best practices 

  • Contribute to Digital Resource Library development and maintenance 

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or related field 

  • 3+ years experience in Recruiting, HR, workforce development or training, within the semiconductor industry  

  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems 

  • Experience with virtual event planning and execution 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities 

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively 

 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience in semiconductor industry or advanced technology sector 

  • Knowledge of workforce development programs and best practices 

  • Experience with educational or professional development programs 

  • Familiarity with semiconductor industry trends and challenges
