When you join PPGNY as the Telehealth Intake Coordinator, you will provide a smooth flow of patients through PPGNY's telehealth platform, for the coordination of patient appointments and correspondence with providers.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Elicits and records patient and/or provider information and inquiries by following established protocols to resolve or escalate all customer inquiries
  • Advocates on the caller/customer behalf to ensure their needs are met and to promote patient experience
  • Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and providers through active listening, empathy, courtesy, excellent customer service and professionalism in a virtual environment
  • Provide support services related to Telehealth in accordance with federal and state laws and applicable regulations
  • Assists patients, providers and staff with setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of telehealth processes and services.
  • Manages on-demand patient flow and triage
  • Communicates effectively with telehealth team, providing support necessary to facilitate the patient’s visit, including any follow-up needed
  • Confirms appointments and registration; verbally contacting patients to aide in completion of registration

  • You have:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working in a fast paced high stress environment, ideally in a healthcare setting
  • Customer service skills
  • Excellent computer and phone skills
  • You are interested in expanding your analysis and knowledge about the role that racial inequity plays in our society, and are committed to building and/or deepening your commitment to racial equity in your work
  • Ability to work Monday-Saturday

    All positions at PPGNY require:
    Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season and Covid-19) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
