This is a remote position.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM | New York (Eastern Standard Time)

Paid hours per week: 45 hours

Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive financial operations across multiple business entities, including a thriving real estate brokerage, investment properties, and trust accounts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to modernize and streamline financial processes while working with a diverse portfolio. You’ll be instrumental in transitioning from legacy systems to cloud-based solutions, implementing efficiency improvements, and maintaining precise financial records across both business and personal accounts. The position offers competitive compensation ($9.75/hour part-time or $7.75/hour full-time) with opportunities for growth and development within a successful real estate organization.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping operations across three distinct entities: business operations, personal investments, and real estate trust
  • Execute accounts payable and receivable processes with high attention to detail
  • Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple accounts
  • Lead the transition from local QuickBooks to QuickBooks Online
  • Implement and maintain efficient financial tracking systems
  • Create and maintain comprehensive financial reports
  • Streamline existing processes and reduce duplicate data entry
  • Assist in developing consolidated net worth tracking across all entities
  • Support with administrative tasks as needed (particularly for full-time role)
  • Maintain organized digital records and ensure proper documentation



Requirements
  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience
  • Expert proficiency in QuickBooks (both desktop and online versions)
  • Advanced Excel and spreadsheet management skills
  • Experience with personal and business financial management
  • Strong background in financial reporting and reconciliation processes
  • Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality with sensitive financial information
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Experience with cloud-based financial tools
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy
  • Knowledge of real estate industry financial practices preferred
