Job Description

As an RTO Student Support Officer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Providing phone and email support to students, answering queries and offering guidance on course progress.
  • Monitoring student progression and providing proactive support to ensure successful completion of training.
  • Entering and updating student data in internal systems with a high level of accuracy.
  • Supporting the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Learning and applying training package rules to assist students with course-related questions and pathways.
  • Collaborating with other team members to ensure students receive timely and relevant information.
  • Contributing to the effective management of training packages and course structures.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working in the RTO industry in Australia.
  • Experience working for an Australian Client/Business is required.
  • Experience in student support, administration, or customer service roles (preferably within an RTO or education environment).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and helpful phone manner.
  • High attention to detail with efficient and accurate data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in using systems and databases (e.g., student management systems).
  • Ability to understand and apply training package rules and course structures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and improve current systems and processes.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience working in a Registered Training Organization.
  • Knowledge of training packages and the Australian vocational education framework.
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or related qualification (advantageous but not required).
