The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

Engineering and Technology Application Services (ETAS) Environment Team is looking for an experienced PLM/Engineering Applications Solutions Architect to join our team.  You will create and sustain technology roadmaps for PLM and related Engineering applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise technology strategies. They will define, manage, and implement architectural strategies, support Agile teams, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders. The role requires experience with PLM enterprise deployed solutions, ideally with knowledge of integrations across ERP and MES systems. The candidate should be proficient in all product and software development lifecycle stages, possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and have a strong understanding of architecture frameworks, cloud-based solutions, and business processes. This individual will ensure compliance with industry standards and RTX policies while fostering relationships and mentoring cross-functional groups and possess a passion for self-learning and a relentless curiosity, adapting to new technologies and concepts without requiring formal training.

What You Will Do:

  • Create and sustain technology roadmaps for PLM and related Engineering applications, ensuring they align with the overall enterprise technology strategies, complying with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and RTX's internal policies so they are shared and collaborated with the appropriate stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Define, manage, and implement architectural strategies to support PLM and related Engineering applications, offering architectural analysis and guidance for projects of significant scope or impact while evaluating evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance digital engineering capabilities and enterprise integrations.

  • Support PLM and Engineering Applications updates through Agile Release Train (ART) and Agile development teams by ensuring timely execution of architectural strategies, maintaining continuous communication, and being involved from initial architectural definition through to solution development, testing, deployment, and adoption through strong relationships with cross-functional organizations, including Proposal groups, multiple Engineering disciplines (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software), Supply Chain, Operations, IT groups, and associated leadership teams.

  • Work alongside Product Managers, Product Owners, System Architects, and other team members to prepare for SAFe Program Increment (PI) Planning activities, including facilitating timelines for defining and grooming Epics, Capabilities, Features, and User Stories, and estimating resources for upcoming Program Increments.

  • Engage in and support the maturing of architecture practices within the organization and across RTX, fostering essential relationships and growing experience in Business Architecture, Application Architecture, Information/Data, and Technology.

  • Potential of travel up to 1 week per month

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with a minimum of 8 years supporting or using a PLM system for Change Management, Part Management, Document Management, CAD management, Part Structure Management, BOM Transformation.

  • Proficient in all stages of the product and software development lifecycle and basic knowledge of business processes in proposal development, engineering, planning, manufacturing, aftermarket services, model-based practices, and configuration management

  • Experience with architecture frameworks and methodologies across essential domains (Business, Application, Data, Technology), including cloud-based solutions and architecture.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking ownership of tasks, and effectively communicate tasks based on inherent priority providing updates to various stakeholders and leadership as appropriate.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst or Product Owner or Product Manager.

  • 10+ years supporting, configuring, administering, or deploying PTC Windchill for Change Management, Part Management, Document Management, CAD management, Part Structure Management, BOM Transformation.

  • 5+ years supporting or integrating PLM with ERP and MES systems, such as SAP for Project Systems, Material Masters, Bills of Material, Material Requirements Planning, Production Planning

  • Demonstrated experience using SparxEA for modeling problems, proposals, solutions, or systems.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
