Overview 

We are recruiting an experienced Director, Program Management for a direct hire role at an oil and gas company. The Director, Program Management is responsible for leading and executing cross-functional and critical enterprise projects and programs using best practices. This work involves strategic operational management, project/program management, executive-level communication, and stakeholder collaboration. This role will ensure projects/programs deliver on intended outcomes and collaborate with functional leadership and PMO leaders to define and manage the Project/Program Management process, operational management, governance, reporting frameworks, and tools. This role engages with experienced professionals, implements policies and focuses on results, as well as influences others regarding policies and practices. This role may require up to 20% travel. Qualified candidates must be able to work within the United States who do not require any visa sponsorship. This position will work MST and CST times zones but may be expected to work additional time zones as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic program management direction and leadership to identify and mitigate any potential risks that impact enterprise wide program and/or project management success.
  • Operational management related to projects/programs and processes in an oil and gas organization.
  • Managing communication with numerous cross functional stakeholders and Executive level senior management.
  • Direct, monitor and report on the progress and performance of the entire program portfolio.
  • Make Executive level recommendations to support strategic decisions regarding project initiation, continuation, or termination.
  • Use of Change Management Toolkit, ensuring key steps are followed and project resources contribute appropriately.
  • Ensure quality standards, best practices, tools, and formal program management methodologies.
  • Help lead M&A activities related to integration of acquired assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Production or Petroleum Engineering or similar degree.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 8 years strong enterprise-wide program and project management experience (specifically within oil and gas upstream operations and commercial).
  • Project management certification such as PMP preferred.
  • 7+ years experience in the oil and gas industry with a strong understanding of natural gas industry standards, upstream operations, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements.
  • M&A integration experience in oil and gas including setting up an IMO, workstream support, and value capture preferred.
  • Expert in portfolio, project management, process improvement, and operational management
  • Strong change management skills and knowledge
  • Strong leadership to mentor, foster and motivate an inclusive workplace.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and job-related applications and digital visualization software and tools.
  • Analytical thinker able to break down problems and data into logical groupings and clear next steps.
  • Strong experience analyzing complex data sets, building models, and understanding relationships between metrics.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills building executive decks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and job-related
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work either ambiguity.
  • Expert interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This role is a full-time role and the annual base compensation range is $145,000 - $270,000. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
