Key responsabilities:

Evaluate and process claims related to Commercial General Liability, including product liability and construction defects.

Conduct thorough investigations into claims to determine coverage and liability.

Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to resolve claims efficiently.

Assist in the growth of the Excess and Surplus business by segmenting areas of CGL.

A well established E&S Carrier is looking to bring on a Senior Claims Examiner with experience in Commercial General Liability. The carriers book of business is habitational, construction defect, premise, product, property damage, BI - no commercial auto. They have authority in all 50 states including Washington DC. Senior Claims Examiner

Extensive experience in Commercial General Liability - emphasis on mix bag GL
Experience handling litigated and non-litigated claims
Experience with coverage writing and liability investigation
Exposure to Excess & Umbrella policies a plus

The carriers book of business is Commercial General Liability, primarily made up of Habitational business and General Contractors (i.e. Electricians, Plumbers, Landscapers, etc). The types of GL range from product, construction defect, property damage, bodily injury, assault and battery, slip and fall, and more. They will be moving forward in the next few years with segmenting out the areas of CGL. Policy limits generally reach 1 - 2 million, they are looking to grow their Excess and Surplus business in the coming years.

This role can be hybrid or remote depending on your location!

The client cannot hire out of the following states - New York, New Jersey, Florida, California, and Colorado.

- Habitational (apartment complexes, homeowners, condos -> slip and fall, theft, assault and
battery, property damage, bodily injury, wrongful eviction, slumlords, NYLL, NY sidewalks,
NY buildings)
- Lessor/Lessee (Commercial Buildings, Strip Malls)
- Product Liability (Defective Products)
- True Construction Defect (GC going after every trade due to defective drywall or structural)
